First of all Im new to the forum, so G'day to everyone. I have been on the hunt this week for my new SSv sedan, have sold my Sv6 ute and I am stoked to move up to the V8..The only thing is, Im not sure if I should get a MY9.5 or wait until the MY10 is released..Can anyone shed some light on the MY10 and what is different between the two other then the year?

I'm not too sure that you will be able to get a MY9.5, unless your particular dealer has one on the floor in the color you want. I have a MY10 SSV Ute on order which won't be here until late September. I would have quite willingly taken a MY9.5 if available but stocks had been run out.

i suppose there cant be much as the prices are around the same best bet if u find a 9.5 u like use it to ur favour and get a good deal and save $$$ and u wont have to wait till end sep early oct

Apparently AFM autos will be up 10 Kw to 270 - same as manual. Doesn't seem to be any significant changes - unless you wait till November/ December for the special edition with G8 bonnet/ bumper.

Herbz, this is the million dollar question.
One thing is for sure is that the built plate will say MY10, this is a good enough reason for me to wait for a MY10 as the MY9.5 is now the old model and pricing will reflect this.
If you want a bargain then i would wait untill the first week of September when the My10 details are released then go screw a dealer hard on the My9.5..I reakon serious discounting will apply to the older stock as they will need to move them quite quickly.
Alot of speculation surrounds the MY10 and the POSSIBLE changes that this may bring... but it is all speculation.
A sure thing is the addition of a new colour or two, other than that noone knows.
Much the same as the DI engines, even Wheels magazine got it wrong prior to its release claiming 225kw for the new V6..when it actual fact the press release revealed 210Kw.
My advice is hold strong, hold on and wait for the official data on the 1/9/09 before you make a decision.... what ever you do dont get to caught up in specualtion and other peoples dreams.

Cheers Adam,
It's a really tuff situation. It's hard when the dealers them selves have no idea what the changes will be, also adding to the frustration is I have been told by 3 dealers so far that it is hard to get a MY9.5 in what i would like...so i almost have to make the decision to get a 9.5 I dont exactly want, or a 10 which i dont even know what i would exactly be getting..
Thanks for the advice though, will definetely keep it in mind.:goodjob:

AFAIK there is no change except the MY10 build plate.

Herbz, I was told exactly the same mate... allocation of 9.5 cars exhausted..its BS.
Have a look at www.carpoint.com.au or www.discountusedcars.com.au see how many dealers are trying to off load My9.5 VE,s
I was only offered a 9.5 white SSV ute M6 a day or so ago by the dealer who i have my My10 order with. The same dealer have several SSV 9.5 wagons sitting on the lot.
The logic is why would holden announce any new features when the dealers are still holding old stock?.... seriously who would buy them?
All the best with it Herbz, let us know how you go

Hey mate.
Im in the same boat as you are. i have been in contact with a few holden dealers. From what i have been told with the V8's there will be no differance between the MY9.5 and the MY10 other than 3 new colours.
- Yellow
- Posion Ivy (Green)
- Wildfire (light gold)
I know this because the sales person from Holden rings me very second day asking if i had made a desion yet ?
Out of interest what prices have u been quoted mate. Cause from the most expensive to the cheapest ive been offered is almost $9000. Cheapest ive been offered is $48,990 of a MY10 SSV manual sedan.
Hope that helps.
Tell me more about the G8 edition ?

I dont think its a big secret that the differences will be slight...however if he is ringing you every second day then i think that speaks volumes for itself HE IS DESPERATE to get a sale before the My10 hits the yards.:)
I saw a thread somewhere claiming that a dealer was doing the My9.5 SSV sedan for something like $44k.
Have the dealer supply you in writing that their is no difference cosmetically or mechanically between the MY9.5 and the My10...bet you he wont do it.
Remember he is a sales person and his job is to sell....half these guys will sell their grandmothers so tread with caution when listening to them. Any promises should always be in writing especially those made by car dealers.
