Hey guys,

I have a problem which started up this morning and I can't seem to reset it no matter how much I play around with it.

My VE has always had some issue where, almost every time I start the car, the CD doesn't work, but then when I eject it and put it back in, it works again. But I didn't have a problem with that.

Now though, it's being a bit of a pain.

Same scenario, except I ejected it, put it back in, and even though it started playing the CD - on the trip computer (not the centre console) it displays 'CD Error'

Like I said, the CD works. I can turn up the volume with the steering wheel right dial.

But I can't change tracks with the other steering wheel dial!

And it's a bit frustrating having a feature which you can't use, and always looking forward above my digital speedo saying 'CD Error' - that won't go away.

It's just sitting there as a constant reminder that something doesn't work. I hate it.

Any quick fix help guys? I thought it'd be worth a shot.

Car's still under warranty so I'm thinking of showing a Holden dealer this. I've been there a few times about other things and unlike several shockers, this particular Holden dealership is filled with a lot of very friend and very knowledgeable people.

Thanks for reading guys. I appreciate it.

Yeh take it to Holden, they'll be able to sort it within an hour hopefully. I've had errors with my loading mechanism where sometimes it won't eject some CD's, makes no bloody sense but it happens!

By the way, your name wouldn't happen to start with R would it? I've been confused with another green P plater driving a VE when I've been around and about! Can't remember the name they've screamed out when I've had my windows down, but I swear it starts with R!

 Not if you take it to the dealer I used to use!

I doubt it was me though, I don't recall yelling at anyone on the road. lol

But yeah, thanks guys. I'll take it to Holden today or tomorrow and see what they have to say. I'll keep you posted. :)

Cheers for the add. It goes greatly appreciated. :)
Just looking at your profile pic, what a jaw-dropper your car is, I love it!
No way that's a Calais!

Alrighty...

I got a warranty service booked in for tomorrow. I'll tell you how it goes.

UPDATE:

They fixed EVERYTHING!

There's this one guy there who always looks after me. Great bloke. He said he made sure everything was 100% and came outside with me to make sure I was happy with the car.

I only had a month's left of warranty so thank god I booked it in.

They flashed/updated the software in the trip computer and the ECU. So according to them, 'it'll probably actually go faster now as well.'

They fixed a petrol lid problem I've been having (it kept getting stuck because there wasn't enough moisture in the corner, it was annoying).

And at my request, they debadged the whole rear bar the chevy badge! Looks mint!

I'll post pics up after work.

I'm amazed to read that there are so many people on here who have had a bad experience with a Holden dealer.

These guys take pretty good care of me every time I go there.
The one guy I mentioned earlier actually helped me remove my tow ball on the spot for free. He's a lifesaver. Interesting personality though. lol

I hate CD errors, I'm not sure what a dealer would be able to do for a VX's cd errors, but if they just have to flash the computer, I think it's worth it. Feels so much better being able to use my cd player properly. haha
