do workshops get a credit when the old oil is taken away to be re refined?
Maybe you can find a friendly one and drop it there

I put mine in containers and put them out next to my council recycle bin on pickup day. The driver jumps out and picks it up when he picks up the bin.:goodjob:
Best bet is to ring your council.

My local tip has a big tank at the entrance. I usually empty about 20L at a time and its free, just pour it in and they provide heaps of bins to chuck your container in...

The Local Council here has a collection day every few months when you can drop off hazardous goods such as oils and batteries. Check with yours and if so, put it in a container and hang on to it until the day arrives.

I'm pretty disappointed that people would be contaminating the ground water by pouring oil into the dirt. Much easier to mix it with kerosene and use it when burning old tyres.

No don't put it in the recycle bin, when it gets crushed it bursts the container and oil dribbles along the road and it contaminates the other recycle waste.
Find a 20L container and every few oil changes take the waste oil to your local tip, they usually will take 20L free.

Take it camping to start the fire in the morning, there's always going to be a fireplace there so whats it matter if the grass wont grow back for 400 years.
People will know where the camping spots are by the bare spots on the ground
