shift light on ve

im trying to locate a tacho output wire for a shift light on my ve ss. ive searched the forum anf found that ppl were using the purple wire on the coil at passenger front. this worked but the shift light was also going off at idle aswell. can anyone help???

also if anyone knows how to contact 2BCORT can you let me know as ive been told he might be the man to tackle this one

well after alot of research i think ive found the issue. its all in the brand. some shift lights come with an inbuilt amplifier that boosts the rpm signal. aparently 'drift' isnt on of these brands :flipoff:.
