hey guys im having a few problems. I seem to get abit of shuddering coming from my ute. Its has been cammed/tuned and i have over 300+ rwkw and have a standard clutch/driveline except 3.7 diff gears...
So what happens is ill be coming up to and intersection or round about and changing down through the gears and my ute will start to shudder slowing down and when i go to turn around the corner/round about it gets even worse..... I seem to have to ride the clutch and keep it in a lower gear to have the revs up, as soon as i lower the revs the car feels like its gona stall and shudders making me look like i cant drive for S*** as if im a learner drive driving for the first time........
So does anyone else have this issue with a ve, If so, can someone let me know so i can find out what is causing this issue...
cheers matt

Reread the post, he says the shuddering is making him look like
a learner driver :)
If it feels like it is going to stall sounds more like an engine problem
than clutch? Has this happened since the mods, or just started?

Sounds like the same issue my friend had after he got it 'tuned' by a forum sponsor.
Cam bucking. Not unusual for a cammed car to not be properly tuned.

Sounds like what my Calais was doing after a cam install. I guess this is what happens when you put a cam in. What size is it by the way?
I learned to engage the clutch whenever my revs dropped below about 1300-1500 rpm, otherwise it was bunny-hopping like mad. I had a textralia clutch as well.

sounds like a tune issue.
i can drop well under 1000rpm before i need to clutch it.

from your description of it happening when ur slowing down with revs dropping and also going round corners with not enough low gear sounds very much tune like...your clutch doesnt have a lot to complain about low in the rev range
u would get the same lurching/pig rooting/hunting cruising around in carparks no doubt????
put it in first and take clutch and accelerator off once moving and let it drop down the revs....it shouldnt stall or pig root but come to a set of revs and crawl along...same thing can be done in second gear
in first with no clutch or accelerator my cammed VE SSV can climb up the driveway of my mates place which is lose rocks/roadbase without stalling/pigrooting/etc...

depending on dyno anywhere from 307rwkw to 323rwkw with the standard 19" SSV wheels it has run

If anything your new clutch will make the bucking worse because it will slip less, grip more.
It shouldn't really matter how big your cam is, your VE should not be cam bucking. The tune is not right if that is your problem.

What is your car like going down your mates driveway?
I find my car is fine when it is under power, but small changes in slope etc make it want to drive train slap.
