Im awaiting delivery of my VE SSV MY10 Ute, should be here later this month. When I ordered the car I told my dealer that I want the AFM badges taken off the front guards and replaced with the 6.0 Litre V8 badges.
He ordered them for me and said they'll sought it out when the car is delivered.
He rang me yesterday to touch base, gave me a delivery date and I asked what cost will be involved for the badges and change over.....not wanting any nasty surprises and was told "Free of Charge"......:goodjob:

I know it's only a small matter but it's a thumbs up for my particular dealer! :)

Worst badges out the AFM. THey are horrid, no idea why anyone would want to keep them on.

take em off, but you will still be driving a 4 cylinder at times... oh the shame :jester:

Not if I do some mods and have it disabled, which there is a very high chance of.

Good to hear. I don't s'pose ~$30 will hurt them too much on a whole car though. Will be a nervous apprentice swapping the badges on a brand newie.

Why don't you drive around in first gear and keep the revs above 4000?

My AFM badges :spew: came off very quickly, followed not long after by AFM disablement.

One of the well respected tuners on here a couple of months ago asked why anyone would in their right mind want to go BACKWARDS with their tune and disable AFM, whilst keeping all the AFM hardware still in the motor.
If defies logic why certain members of this forum consider it a "badge of honour" to use MORE fuel than you need to! Why not stick a Holley on it as well...

Nice mate, what Perth dealer are we talking about?

Shacks in Fremantle. I bought my VE SSV MY9.0 from Rockingham, sales service was good from Rockingham but they have failed to find and rectify a few electronics issues after 4 attempts now.
I will be using Fremantle for the servicing on my new ute, they even polled really high in this forums "Rate your Dealer" poll.

AFM will only be getting disabled if I make mods that require it to be done, like a bigger cam for example. I believe putting in a lumpier cam will require the lifters etc to be changed out etc.

Shacks Freo seem to get more positive feedback then negative, so :goodjob: to them.

Fair enough if you start changing cams and hence change lifters, but for stock motors, where the good tuners out there can gain you good hp whilst keeping fuel saving AFM active for economical cruising, it's a definite retrograde step.
Perhaps some members need to start dealing with better tuners for their bolt on cars...:hide:

My AFM badges are still on the car.

I don't mind them; it's something different and half the people looking at it would have no idea what it means anyway.

I did however get my dealer to change the position on the badges on the bootlid. Didn't like them up the top besides the lights.

PS I will be trying to do my tune with AFM still in palce.
Then I'm getting VEAFM number plates (joke) :p

Each to their own i think. I would be concerned about AFM interfereing with my mods IF i was going to highly mod my vehicle. But i wont have AFM cos i bought a manual and im not after high performace, just something that is tidy, sounds good, and i can drive everyday without any hastles...
