KPM 2.5" SS Cat Back System

Hi all,

I have done some searching and have not found what I am looking for.

Basically, does anyone in Canberra or near by have one of the new "NO DRONE" KPM cat back exhaust systems fitted to a VE SS A6?. I would very much like to hear it.

I currently have the standard factory exhaust on mine and at low speeds (low revs 1400, 1800rpm) under load the drone in the car is starting to give me the shits. Coming up the local mountain from the coast doing about 45 - 60kph the car droned all the way. The family was not impressed with the cabin noise.

After reading posts about the KPM systems and their thread, I am hoping that the KPM cat back system might reduce this noise considerably. Just so I do not start another exhaust debate, I am only interested in reducing the drone noise and not after performance or loud noise gains from the car. So I am only going cats back.

Phil, to be honest I think if you find the factory system drones (I couldn't even hear mine on the ute when it was stock!) then I suspect you'll find every aftermarket system even worse.

If even your family was complaining it sounds as if there is a problem somewhere.

Hey mate, not sure if i can help but i just got the KPM 3" Premium system with headers for mine (After reading Wonky rave about it and watching all his vids i had to get it:eyes:) i will have it installed by next weekend if you want a listen.
I can`t hear my factory exhaust at all.
Being 3" it will be louder but the offers there anyway mate.

It only does it when your at low speeds under light accelleration. If I am on the freeway traveling at 100kph you can't realy hear the exhaust (pretty quiet). Maybe I am not explaining the noise I am hearing correctly. I might try to record the sound with my phone next time. Maybe the cabin noise is normal?.. I had thought it might be the Big rear mufflers resonating the noise.

Having the KPM system might change the tone a bit.

Thanks for the offer. Maybe I should take you for a run in mine to hear what I am trying to describe. Sure I would like to hear the system once its all together.
