Finally , we have had a chance to get stuck into this monster.

Finished off and tidied up some of the little details in the installation of the twin turbo kit, now time to start mapping fuel and spark.

After some initial problems with the oil circulation on the dry sump system - we ended up removing the tank and modifying it - if you look carefully and you'll see the "hi-tech" coca cola bottle breather ! ( this has been removed since)

The catch tank kept filling up ,it took us a few days to trace it back to some strange plumbing connections within the dry sump tank, the scavenge pump was squirting oil straight into the overflow breathers !

Starting off with a safe tune, very little timing and conservative boost( 6 psi ) it's already pumping out some serious HP - the 345/25/20's struggling to find grip on our rollers.

Currently, we are sorting out the setup of the Apexi boost controller..

Mick drove it on the freeway - tells me he had a "clench" moment just squeezing the throttle in 3rd gear at a politically correct 100kph ( 3.15 ratio diff )

I refuse to sit in the passenger seat with the laptop on my lap - takes too long for the organs to find their right place.:)

Im very keen to see the z06 running to its full potential on the circut. Almost sure it will prove the zr1 wrong and then some!

I read the article in SM, very nice indeed.

What are the specs of the engine?

Twin Turbo Corvette - finally...

Today after some nagging ( from our part ) , Clive the owner allowed us to squeeze it .

Clive picked it up from us making 6 PSI and a lazy 405 rwkw , in a car with this weight , he reckons it was absolutely the most frightening thing he's ever driven ( shopping car is a BMW M3 ) and he only once tried WOT in 4th gear , his comments were

"'I 5hit myself"

Well, we tweaked the APEXi boost controller for 13 PSI and added some timing to his spark map - our engine man tells us that 18 psi should be no problem...

I'll get a dyno sheet of the before and after - Clive stood next to us when we ran it up and needless to say, he looked a little pale

LOVE IT !

great work guys.

ive just done some research, the stock Z06 runs about a 12sec quarter which is good for a stock car, this thing would be in the 10's with some good rubber.

for a car that only weighs 1420kg stock this thing would be INSANE to drive.

i really should buy shares in tyres one of these days
