VZ SS Tapping noise in dash

G'day
Title says it all intermittent tapping sound coming from the dash in my ss with climate control. Sounds to me like it could have somthing to do with the climate, as it will make the noise when the car is moving or at idle but seems to be worse when slowing down or at idle. Has nothing to do with driveline as far as i can tell as when the engine is revved clutch in/out etc noise stays the same. It is annoying as it only does this every now and again with climate on or off stereo on or off etc. If someone could shine some light on this would be great.

Does it sound like a CD rattling in the head unit.

Like its just sitting on top of something rocking back and forward??

I know its not a CD but my VY has the same noise if thats what your hearing.
It pisses me off and i cant get the headunit out to see if a bolt has come loose or something

I was talking to a mate who used to work for the local holden joint today about it and he reckons that it could be vacuum related (hose etc) as he has seen it before. I'll let you know how i go.

I know what you mean man my vz ss ute does this! Ive just put up with it. I origionally thought it was the engine covers coming lose or something. The sound the car makes when u change from face to floor on climate its like that but constantly tapping. Would love to know how to fix this. It only happens every now and then & I found it does it more when I have a/c on
