VY SS electrical problem

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help me, to small problems.

When you turn the car off the radio stays on until you open the drivers door, this is no longer working on my car, so the radio stays on unless you physically push the off button. im worried that when the car is sitting there not being used it will be draining the battery. Only started today.

The aerial seems to longer than expected after switching the radio off, while the aerial is going down i cannot lock the car, i have to wait until the aerial is down before the central locking will work. this one isnt a major issue, it just means i have to be more patient.

As i said small niggles, but hoping someone can help me.

Do all the other door operated functions work (eg lights etc) - could be something as simple as a non functional switch in your door, not realising the door is shut?

If that works fine then I am guessing it will need some more sophisticated fault finding...

this was the case with my old VY, it was the door switch thingy

I had the same problem with my VY.

Take out the door switch (2 screws), and give it a lube with silicone spray or similar, re-install it and problem solved. :smilesandbanana:

Does the interior light work when you open the door (and go off when you close it)?

Mine was doing similar recently, door switch was ok. What I did was with help from the owners manual reprogrammed all settings on the dash. There was one setting that was incorrect by memory causing the problem.
