I hope the WA government hurry up and make their mind up about the track upgrade at BARBARGALLO RACEWAY.Wake up COLIN BARNETT and get your head out of your ASS and give us race fans in WA the answer we would like to hear and that is the V8 SUPERCARS will be back again to race in WA.PERTH should`ve had a street race around the city but NO they said'[it would disrupt the city]CRAP,that stupid RED BULL AIR RACE disrupts the city doesnt it.The government doesnt realise how many jobs are created, how much money is brought into the state/tourism etc.Show case WA you idiots remember what the rest of AUSTRALIA labelled WA DUSVILLE.So instead of spending money on a stupid BELL-TOWER/FERRISWHEEL and give the WA SPORTING CAR CLUB the budget it needs for the upgrade.

Guys refer this thread.

Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=111059)

Plenty of discussion around proposed track updates and the WA govt lack of action here.
Cross fingers for something to happen soon

cheers

There will be a new track at Dowerin if everything goes well. Not so much as to lure the V8's away from Barbagello, but for car clubs, driver training etc. Closer to Perth than Collie and BP's finest is only a 20min drive :)

The track is being designed from scratch by motorsport enthusiasts to ensure stringent Confederation of Motor Sports (CAMS) specifications and Motoring Australia guidelines are met.

An extensive consultation process has been undertaken to ensure all our stakeholder groups are happy with how things are progressing.

The complex is to be constructed at Amery Acres, 5 kms east of Dowerin on the Dowerin - Wyalkatchem road.

An estimated 2.5 kms in length, it is anticipated that the track will begin construction early in 2010 for use in late 2010.

Let's see the Townsville event bought just under $20 million for the local area. and thats a city of under 200,000, and yes I did make the trip over there and found the event to be the best one yet in Australia.
Perth has over 1 million people, even if the same amount of people turned up that would still be a big win for the local area. But than again we are in a backwards state, and yes A^K^T if run out of reasons to put up with WA sh?t. Time to go somewhere a least half decent. Melbourne here I come.
