View Full Version : VE ute trays & Rhino spray-on?
Has anyone removed their ute's plastic tub liner and are the tray sides / floor completely panelled?
I want to know if the tray can be sprayed with Rhino product (after removing plastic liner).

i think they would have spray it onto the plastic liner as when you remove the tub liner it has holes in the sides of the tray (can anyone who has taken the liner out confirm this?)

Yep you're correct vicarious, also towards the front of the tub there is no steel over the petrol tank.

Two pics when my liner was out to have wiring from cabin to actuators and reversing camera fitted.

well that's a decent step backwards for the ute, isnt it?!
they have gone the same way as Ford
I guess the drain holes are gone too?

i had an au ute and was very skeptical of the plastic tray liner.
after using it, i got the opinion that it is better. it doesn't scratch, dent or rust. its easy to clean too.
my VY ute was scratched and the wheel arches dented after a short period. that didn't really bother me, i don't treat it as a show car, but over time the plastic holds up much better. i also had rust appearing in places where teh gal had worn through.
any spray on surface will scratch up and peel off in places from what i have seen.
i am happy my VE has the plastic tub, very servicable.

Me too! :goodjob: Never had a ute before but apart from the fact it's a pain when you need to remove it for running wires I love it!

The plastic tub is a great idea - plus you can replace it if need be.

Also, these utes are heavy enough as they are. They would only be heavier if more metal was needed to line the rear. I'll take the plastic liner thanks.

my experience with 6 utes (5 Holden, 1 Triton) is that the Rhino was miles ahead of any other tub liner
way tougher, low-slip etc
