While cruising home from Brizzy yesterday (Sunday 13th) at about 1530hrs, got to just north of "Dream world" exsist and noticed 2 x utes (VE and think vy) with "HI TORQUE PERFORMANCE" stickers all over them. The utes were themselves reasonable well behaved for most of the trip down the freeway. But there seem to be some knob head in a (vr-vs) trying to race them by weaving in and out of traffic like a complete tool. Its crap like this that gives all of us a bad name and gets the back up of the local police.I realise that a sponsor like "Hi Torqure" can't contol what people with there stickers do but it doesn't look good to have 2 of there customers cars in weeekend trafffic driving like that after some nob.:soap::soap:

Why would you bother racing a VS on the street and risk losing you car/license????

Not worth street racing at all. They probably got blitzed at PowerCruise and needed to redeem themselves

I dont get it....

You said that the hi torque cars were reasonably well behaved...

Then said that a vrvs was driving like a tool

Then seemed to put the blame on the hi torque cars....?

Arif, sounds like the 2 Hi-Torque ones went after the other guy...

Look I dont know how this reflects on the particular shop, in my eyes it doesnt moreso just the knobs driving the particular vehicles. Anyone who used to go out on Thurday nights in Brisbane would remember a particular red ute with large *insert Brisbane sponsor here* stickers on it driving around sideways and doing burnouts every chance it could along Gympie rd.

I never thought twice about the shop advertised.

110% agree , shops cant control what their customers do on the street and im certain that it wouldnt have an effect on their business..

I'm also confused. why mention that the 2 cars had hi torque stickers on them anyway.

If anything mentioning their names gives a good rep in my eyes...

EG: If I see a car the same as mine going along and it moves at the speed of light and I see a workshops sticker on the car, Im going to think, Holy Crap! Im taking my car there!

It can work both ways....

Say no more. You noticed just about every driver tailgating at over the speed limit, weaving across lanes and the obligatory self appointed sherrif who hogs the fast lane at smack on the limit.

No, the Hi-Torque utes performed pretty well at Powercruise, laying rubber for a hundred metres or so.

Anyone know the full story here. Were they hooning or was it more than that. Lot of assumptions here. Not good.

who cares? how many extremely dangerous acts do we all witness every single day on the roads? Why is this any more important? Because they had stickers on their cars? so what? In no way is that a reflection on the workshop, it has less than nothing to do with them. We've all seen this sort of behaviour in many different types, and standards, of car. I certainly have.

Great thread

not

Your ute ??? Don't get me wrong nice ute but the boys in blue and other motorist are just waiting for the chance to have there say and we all get put into the same basket. It's the weaving from lane to lane that gets people upset more than anything

The point to this thread is not to single out any particular shop or bussiness which is what is said to begin with as they have no control over there customers. THE POINT IS every day it gets harder and harder to rego, insure ,drive a car with any form of mods due to shit like this. The police and law makers are cracking down hard and making it near impossilble to drive the cars we enjoy. Take a look at the hotrodding community no-one seems to give them grief (yes I know differnt era differnt laws) The turbo boys get a bad wrap because of knobs behind the wheel and so do we. The reason is our cars stand out and mybe a bit different to the norm. No-one gives a shit about the wanker in the beaten up camiry driving like a nut in traffic he get labelled a dickhead not that he is driving a "HOONS" car.

Take a look at the hotrodding community no-one seems to give them grief (yes I know differnt era differnt laws)

proper hotrods are approved and built to specs from the Aus governing body of hotrods (dunno the name). You get a booklet and constant inspections throughout the build. At the end its upto the owner/driver to keep it above board while on the road.

I never got hasseled in my ute until the night I got done for speeding and coincidentally am now on a SHO. 3.5yrs of owning it only ever being stopped for RBTs. So there you have it proof is in the pudding, play up get nicked.
