Hi all.

I've just picked up a VE Commodore ex police car from a dealer.

I took it to Beaurepaires for a wheel alignment because it was pulling a bit to the left.

When I came back, they told me they had done a maximum adjustment on the rear but I would need to take it to Holden to get fixed. They said something about pins, but I'm not all that mechanically minded, so I'm not sure what that means.

They also said that the front right was out at an angle that you would run a umm... they said either performance car or race car on, but having the rear done should fix that up somewhat.

Obviously being an ex police car I expected it to have done some hard yards, so I wasn't too surprised. All I want is to maximise the tyre life.

Does anyone know exactly what I should be asking Holden to do?
Any idea on the cost?
Is this kind of thing covered under the three month statutory warranty dealers are required to give in Qld?

I've uploaded a jpg of the wheel alignment they gave me.

Thanks for your help.

I think what they mean by pins is the link pins that connect to the steering arm if the bushes are worn out or move a bit it will put your alignment out by a fair bit easily fixed though just a matter of replacing them both you can get some good aftermarket one's relitivley cheap i had both mine replaced for $170 fitted.

The rear of a VE has two adjusters per side, one does toe the other plays with the camber. The front adjuster is the problem (toe). Holden changed these adjusters from a tie rod end stlyle adjuster to a cam style. The cams can sometimes break away from the adjuster.
So its rear toe adjustment cams ( I assume they are cams)

I don't think you will get a warranty on these, but they aren't real expensive, but I heard they are on backorder maybe Planetdavo can help us out here.

Most VE's I have seen that a pulling/leading left or right are generally due to the ass end being out of whack.

There is a rework on some earlier VE's for rear tyre wear. It involves some fairly time consuming rear suspension bush work.
This all assumes that the issue isn't caused by anything that happened in it's previous life of course...
