Hey All,

I am new to the forum, I have been reading different posts for a while tho.

I have had my SS since Easter and I am finally starting a few modifications :)

I have just put on a 3" Xforce catback and eventually want to do the headers and cats, however I just priced them and given the response I got from the dragon, I assume that this may be a little while down the track. The exhaust has only been on for a week now but it is much quieter than I was expecting, has anyone else found this?

I am also looking to put on a CAI now. I have read many of the posts in regard to this. I had made my mind up on an Orssom OTR incorporating the factory MAF. When I started to tell people, a few mentioned that an OTR retaining the MAF with will make the car run very roughly at idle. Has anyone come across this at all?

Also I have been given mixed information about headers and cats. I was told by one person that you can run a OTRCAI, Headers and high flo cats without a Mafless tune, whilst others say a tune is essential. What is crap and what is right?

Any advice will be great.

I also recently fitted a dual 3inch Xforce to my SS, ive still got the factory Cats and Crapola manifold.. I also think its still a bit quiet, its loud when your on the GO pedal but i think its quiet at idle..
So im still researching which headers and cats too go for, i think at the moment im just going too get the HSV headers and cats and get the outlet of the cats modified to 3inch so there is no step.. although im not sure on how much of a restriction the cats are? Anyone got any ideas?

i run pacemaker 4 into 1 headers and xforce dual 3" exhuast with standard cats opended to 3", this goes quite well but there is soo much more in it with high flow cats, im losing 20rwkwkw easy

sounds awesome too

Yeah mine is the same almost no note at idle!

I was thinking of getting some Hsv headers & cats as well. I found this thread:

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=123738&highlight=xforce+catback

It shows pics of a set of xforce headers, HSV headers and factory SS headers. The consensus it that for the outlay/effort the rwkw increase from the HSV gear is not worth it. I believe that they are better than factory, but the gains are so small you are better of saving up and buying aftermarket. I am thinking 1 3/4 Pacies with Ballistic 100cpsi cats.

I also saw a thread, cant find it now tho where this bloke held up different cats to a computer screen to visually illustrate the difference in flow.

Anyone seen the one I mean?
