Slightly less than the TEINS. I went for a ride in a car with the pedders the other day and was really impressed. They are great if you want the best of both worlds. I have TEINS and they are very impressive also. I'd take whichever ones I could get cheaper. Definitely do the coilovers. If you drop the car a bit the standard wheels will look better too.

I agree
go the pedders !!
they are sweet as ..
cost around $1800 - $2000 + fitting if needed ..
I can get the Teins for $2100 including fitting.

Are you putting on coilovers because you race regularly and want to drop your track times by a few hundredths of a second or do you just want to lower your car and say I have Teins ? not having a go but if you just want your car lowered to look better and handle a bit better on the road put in a set of lovell superlows etc for $400 and get the 20's. If you want to be able to wind your coil overs up and down which you will probably do rarely dont bother. I have been in a VE with Teins and preferred my lovells..

But the shock adjustment is great!
The teins are a great unit - and just doing springs only I am not a fan of - might just be me, but I prefer to have the shocks and springs done

If you don't go stupidly low the FE2 shocks are fine. My last car (vyss) I lowered and drove for a year (lovell super lows) then went Koni red short shocks all round and the difference was next to fark all. BUT if you plan to wind the height up and down a fair bit then coil overs for sure but I have driven and been in several times a VE SSV with teins and couldn't feel the difference between his and mine and find mine a more comfortable ride. Each to their own I guess.

I find the comfort of the ride is completely up to the owner with the teins
If i am going for a cruise that has some twisty stuff, i stiffen it all up - it may be called uncomfortable in other circumstances
Then when i am just hwy cruising or have mum in the car, i turn the settings down to a much more comfortable ride - can make it softer than factory
All in the settings IMHO

RED i have never been on the track but i do plan on giving it a try in the future. but right now i just want a lower stance and i've had kings with tokico shocks in my old car and it handled like a good day to day ride (not to hard but not to soft).
However i do get very picky sometimes and get annoyed that the car is not level. (one side lower than the other) and i've heard this happens with a lot of springs. So i was thinking of getting coilovers (for once in my life) so i can adjust the height and see how they are.
BTW: i don't think i have ever been in a car with coilovers, always just springs or springs and shocks (eg: H&R springs with Koni shocks)

I had my VZ with lovells and the FE2 shocks in it initially, and the ride was terrible. On a medium rough road the ride was rough enough to turn the windscreen wipers on. I have since changed to TEINs, and the best part about them is that they allow you to run decent performance spring without making the car too rough for daily duties. The adjustments on the struts allow you to customize the car to the point where you are most happy.
I have also run my car up and down for height quite frequently, allowing me to put it on its guts, lift it back up to a legal height(after a defect notice) and set the car up for the strip.
Sure beats having to own several sets of shocks/springs for different situations.
This is just my opinion though, and as everyone uses their car for different things only you can decide if they'll be worth it for you.

Check out Pedders before you do anything else. I've been for a wrap in an SSV with a full set of coilovers, and it was mindblowing how it handled. See if you can go for a spin in one that has had them fitted and you won't regret it. I was quoted $2200 fitted. Can't justify that just for road use.
I just called up Pedders and got qouted $1900 Fitted with wheel allignment.
Got qouted $2100 for the Teins so i gues i will go for the Pedders. Cheaper and hopefully you guys are correct that i will love them!

The person that was driving the car was a very experienced driver, but whatever way I look at it, there's no way I could ever put mine through half as much as what I experienced with the coilovers, and they were the old set!

Just my opinion, you've already got 18" wheels on your SV6, so do suspension.
TEIN's are great, I've recently fitted these to my VZ wagon (yes it was overkill), and they are sensational. No doubt if you choose Pedders you'll find them great as well.
As said earlier, if you just want to lower it, go springs only into your FE2 setup....heaps cheaper
This might sound dumb. But what is FE2?

FE2 would be the Holden sports suspension package fitted standard to the SV6, SS and SS-V (anyone can jump in and correct me if wrong)
sell the car and get a V8 would be where i would start..

u might want to ask pedders if they are a rebuildable unit or a throwaway one.
coz $200 saving on the over the teins is not worth it.
Teins are rebuildable so when they get worn etc you can service the shocks, revalve, etc
if the pedders are throw away ur up for another $1900 coz u need it all new again
food for thought
i am running the Teins on mine and wouldnt use anything else imho
How long does coilovers normally last for??

How long does coilovers normally last for??just like every part it depends on its use.
but shocks usually are recommended to be changed every 100,000km as they are pretty much worn out

Any reason for that? have you done much driving in a similar car with the Pedders?
Only ask as I'm still undecided which way to go.

Only ask as I'm still undecided which way to go.Driven VE with pedders XA, driven VE with HSD both on street and track and still get back in my car and find my teins better.
mind u i have the updgraded higher spring rate front springs on mine too
just feels better, handles better, etc...but thats my opinion and i am happy with them
others prefer the other ones for a range of reasons but my point was for a $200 saving the OP making the decision of which to buy on the wrong point

Then for everyday driving it should be ok. Well i don't think i'm going to keep the car for 100,000km from now as that is 5 years.
Hmm just like duffman, i still haven't decided which coilovers to go for. But Duff if you end up going for Teins let me know may be able to get it to you for cheap.

Well see the thing is that i got qouted $1900 from a pedders shop (Proper suspension shop).
The Teins i found is off a guy who can get it for cheap and also recomended me to go to his local machanic which will install it for cheap too. That is why it will cost: $2100.
I think wholesale suspension has the Teins going for $2600 fitted.
What is cheap then? I was going off the wholesale suspension price.

everyone has different requirements from coilovers (track, street, combo of both, etc etc) and different opinions to ride feel, handling etc...so its up to the individual.
Yes Sir. $1800 supplied. $2100 Fitted by the guys mechanic.not too shabby..need wheel alignment to dont forget
if he has done a VE and done coilovers on it..its not a bad price

Or if not fussed about strut adjustability, got for the TEIN Basic Kit. I assume they are available for VE.
The spring is height adjustable, the strut isn't. Again if for show and improved handling these are more than enough. IMHO you don't need anything more for street use......from experience.
