Just been at the local dealer looking at alternatives for my next car and noticed that the MY10 SV6 had Yokohama S-221s (I think) instead of Bridgestone RE-050As. The dealer mentioned that GM are supplying Bridgestone, Yokohama or Michelins at the moment.

Anyone else noticed?

my my9.5 ssv has michelins.
my previous sv6 ute had bridgestones.
the new v6 models have a low rolling resistance yokahama. (apparently less friction, hence better fuel economy)

Thats probably why the price of the Potenzas have dropped for the SSV 19 inch

Just curious what Michelins are they using on the SSV??

16's and 17's are now a low resistance Bridgestone
18's are Yokohama S221
19's wear Michelin Pilot Sports.

This has been in effect for the last couple of months, prior to MY10, except for the 16's and 17's.

G'Day Pete :)

Yeah, we got a V8 for the missus and I am looking for my new work car - ordered a SV6 today. These Holden things are multiplying :)

Well if you recall, the MPS6 had RE050A's on it as well and they were an incredibly soft tyre. Had good grip to compliment the AWD but barely lasted 20,000km. Then again I may have had a slightly heavier right foot and some engine mods as well. :)

I remember getting a quote to replace the RE050As on the MPS6 before we sold it :) So far at 10,000 kms the RS050As are holding up on the SS - did have to replace one recently, cost $350.
