I think i might have them. i got the ones that come standard in the SSV if thats what you mean?
i cant see how they will protect from the majority of scratches though because the dont cover the outside edge/top corner of the side skirt where i figure scratches etc are more likely to occur.

I did enquire when I picked up my SSV ute from suttons chullora said they didnt have them and were not made for that model, that was 3 months ago things may have changed since then,I wouldnt mind a set of chrome ones though.

Sill covers are not available for the utes, they spent the billion dollars on the sedan and forgot about the ute l think
I bought these off of ebay and fitted them to give me a little wear resistance, on the outer edge which is the plastic from the side skirt l had my window tinter apply a clear 3M coating, it's like contact and can be peeled off and replaced if required and it virtually invisable

hey 6.2l how much to do the clear plastic thing, i had a look down at clark rubber today looking to do that scenario
I asked city holden in Adelaide about these for my ute. they said they 'think' they are available in statesman only, but couldn't be any more help ful than that.
6.2L - can you remember which seller you got those sill plates off? they do look great.

I'll go and try for you 5 minutes please
You would have to trim it as the door pillar is different shape where the cover goes, dunno how it would look but the length is ok

So the ute has painted sills whereas the sedan has black plastic covers (along with the silver bit?) - I would never have thought they would be different between the two!

It does. Uteme did it to his ute and the result isn't too bad.
Yes there is a gap at the back end of the plastic trim because it isn;t long enough to reach the B pillar's base - have a look at the photo in this thread and you will see where the gap will be.
Also the curvature of the trim as it rises into the B pillar is a tad different (the sedan's rises a tad more steeply) and it leaves a gap of about 2 mm but all in all it looks pretty good and saves the sill from scuff marks.

Dunno how much sorry, my tinter is a mate and he didn't charge me for it, wouldn't think it would be much though

Yeah the door sills in the calais are the same as the one in my SV6..
I'm sure you can modify them slightly..

I have just designed and cut a pair for my ute. I will drop them off at the powdercoaters in the morning to get them done in black.

Look great!! :yup: Are you likely to mass produce them?
PS What's the reason for the different sized slits either side of the SS logo? (eg. bottom picture above) Or is it an optical illusion?

Thanks Wonky. Once I'm happy with the final design, I can cut a few Extra if any members are interested.
The slits are the same width but are 8mm longer on the left. (for no special reason)
I will get another set cut so the slits are the same.

Will you stop making things I want Nick.......
How will the fit up in the sedan? I want some as soon as they are ready. Polished would be best for me. (black with the chrome trimming would look good with these in polished)

Anyone know if the sedan SSV sill plates come out easy enough, ie are they glued in or double sided taped in ? Just curious as ziggy has put the idea in my head now to take mine out and mill something on them .
By the way zig I recon they look great as is, not sure how black would look. Just my opinion.
Cheers

Saw these in the flesh yesterday. Excellent stuff Nick.
We did find in the sedan though that things may be a little different. We tried one on my sill but the sedan already has a plastic covering over the skirt. Mine also has a sill laid in the plastic. So what we need to do is get one of the inlays to trace around so Nick can work his magic on that. It wouldn't look right to use the ones above and simply stick them over the top.

Love it when people create things like this to customise their cars.
This is a dying art ... so great to see!!
Like looking over a neat and seeing all of the little details that had to be made for the thing.
Well done!!!

Yes, you are correct. As Adam has posted, he might take a bit of time to get back to you, but he defently will as soon as he can.
