Guys,

Just looking for abit of advice. I know there is probably a thread on this some where but I didn't find what I was looking for in my search.

My question is, I had my car serviced last year in October. Had my oil, oil filter and coolant changed. It has nearly been a year and I havn't had the car serviced as I have only done 3,000km since the last service.

Should I still have the car serviced agian or should the oil be alright? It's no big deal for me to take it to get serviced just don't know if I really need to. Would the oil still be alright?

Thanks in advanced for any advice.

Cheers

if its run on a regular basis cant see why the oil wouldnt be ok. pull dipstick out smell the oil. if it has a burnt/gluggy smellooks okay and if its still in good condition rub it between your fingers and see if it feels ok and general apperance

Fluids particularly degrade with age. 3000kms in nearly 12 months is very low usage.
For the relatively low cost of at least doing fluid changes, you should always follow the recommended time or distance intervals. This is hugely important for cars that do short distances, as they don't often get the chance to burn off much of the fluid contaminants.

Thanks Davo.

Will book it in for an oil/all fluid change.
