View Full Version : Is this the highest speed for an NA LS1?

A Nizpro modified stroker powered R8 ran an impressive 12.39 @ 118.78 MPH at the last Calder street meeting - can anyone advise if this is the quickest MPH to date for an NA car?
It should be noted that the car is set up for circuit raing (monster brakes, $9000 of suspension including 800-pound rear springs), and yet the owner still enjoys his music and has a big stereo in the car.
It tipped the scales for the Calder meeting at 3960 pounds (with driver) and was subject to significant wheelspin resulting an an absolute crap 60 foot time of 2.21 seconds best.

11.83 from a VUSS in Perth would be the quickest N/A on this forum....
And looking at the quick list, Nizpro's 12.3 would be about 9th down the list as far as NA cars go (without NOS anyway)....
118.7mph is good though!!

AndyP, you missed the point, I am talking MPH, noting that via any 1/4 mile calculator, 118.74 mph is indicative of a potential 11.5.
The point being that the car is set up for circuit, is heavy and slow out of the hole. In turn, the lost momentum normally dicates a very minor loss in MPH, perhaps two, which would in turn mean that with slicks and set up for drags, the potential improves to say an 11.4
Further to this, I am really only intereste din the MPH, not ET.

Sure, it is a 6.4 (I think) stroker, custom camshaft, high compression (still on pulp though), MoTeC, and of course a range of other internal enhancements. It runs a trans cooler, diff cooler, Koni two-way adjustables, super heavy springs, bars and custom rear end mods, 6-pot AP front and 4-pot rear, full interior with big system of subwoofers, amps et cetera.
More than that, well, it will be featured in Zoom magazine soon.

Hey! Congratulations to Nizpro and the guy who owns the car. Very impressive given the weight and set-up etc. There’s some serious grunt in that combo!

This car has some serious grunt let me tell you!!!
I have met the owner and I had a run against him over a 1km speed run at Mangalor airport. I had 270rwkw h/c at the time and he left me for dead.

what gives??! The man stated a fact! You flamed him!
Weird!
I think his comments are correct-even though we haven't spoken about them:doh:
Weather looks good over here for Sunday....we will go and run the Stroker ute-not that strokers count by the rules that you guys recon stand(your rules, not everyones)-we have 290rwkw now after some more messing around so we will see what mph will stand on Monday......anyone want to predict it?
The thread is about Nizpro's work- Simon was one of the pioneers with LS1 engine development in this country and has obviously done a great job with the 6.4l LS1 that the thread is about...... (oh yeah he's a really nice guy too) Yeah it's not from Sydney but f$%^ it's fast!!:burnout: Just imagine how much weight they have bolted in with all that roundy roundy stuff on board!

If it stops raining up in Syd. the planB ute with that 317rwkw N/A 346 should shake things up a little.
Waiting for your next 1/4 mile adventure Pete?

On the day (which was very very hot) there was a Starr 6.2 stroker which clocked 230km/h and the Nizpro machine was around mid 220s' km/h. Both were very tough cars!!
I could only manage 212km/h. Some standard GenIII's were sneaking into the 190's km/h and there was a bolt-on/tuned GenIII which got into the low 200's km/h. There was a HSV converted Corvette which got 214km/h and one turbo ricer which got around 220km/h!!!
It was a fun day!!!

Mate add another 8mph on top of that and it would be getting close.
