Thanks HSV for coming along for Q&A and LS1 :goodjob:
Was it ever considered to modify the Pontiac bonnet buy 'chopping' off the centre tip so as to get a single bonnet addition instead of the release versions dual-split additions?
Something similar to what 'redoctober photochopped

On a similar theme, I'm wondering if you are continuing to manufacture the G8 bonnets or just using surplus stock?
If surplus, will there be a shift to a more traditional bonnet somewhere during the E2s run?
Cheers, Alan.
We were able to use the performance hood (also used on the Pontiac) but to change the part would be extremely expensive and would require changes to the bonnet outer and inner panels. We would also have required more crash testing to prove the bonnet still withstood impact. This would make your suggestion prohibitively expensive.
As for changes to the bonnet, as Phil Harding and myself have previously mentioned we went to our colleagues at Holden very early on in the process to ask them for permission to use the performance hood, as we felt they would add to the twin nostril grille, using very dynamic feature lines. At this stage Holden was about to begin exporting the G8 to the States. The original E Series bonnet will not fit an E2 bumper, the feature lines are in different places and the new E2 bonnet has a longer overhang in the centre of the car.
