I have 3.91s ... no issues with how it drives at all, should have come out like that from factory. Still only sits at about ~1800RPM @110km/h in 6th, and will hit 100+ in second gear. Wouldn't bother with anything less, personally, but do a search ... there are quite a few (some big) threads on what people have done, and their thoughts.

(Mine's manual, though, would be different if yours is auto.)

My advice is to use the search button. There's eleventy billion threads on diffs/gears. It's all been covered before.

I've had both, in an auto. Went back to 3.46 from 3.9 s.

3.9s if your chasing Launch........ 3.46s if you're after smooth driving with economy.

You have to apply, what you think is best for You !!

If you are going to cam your car you also have to think of this as a contributing factor.
Also transmission.
I have 3:7's but, they are stock so I don't know how 3:43's will go let alone 3:9's

i recommend 3.9's!

i have 3.7's. had a diff with 3.9's in my car for a week and the difference at 100km/h is only minor but 3.9's are worth it just for that extra bit. gonna put the 3.9's from my spare diff in my current lsd when i have time :)

3.46 for the road, 3.73-3.91 more for the strip. Depends what you want really.

You need to do a search on here. :)

ive had 3.7s in my auto for a while and they were a great all round ratio , ive just recently gone to 4.11s and they are simply awsome and heaps of fun , maybe another option the 4.11s? despite peoples opinions they dont rev the guts out on the freeway either.

3.7's here. Daily highway car.
One of the best mods I've done.

If you do some decent highway work 3.73 is a good compromise. If mainly city driving 3.91's and a little freeway they would be my pick. Finally drag orientated go 4.11's.

My ute is auto with a 4200 stall and 3.91's. The diff gears was one of the best mods I did. In an auto the difference is quite noticable compared to manual.

Be careful buying second hand. Some 3.91's have been found to be noisy and a few people have bought a few sets before getting a good set. My first set that I bought on eBay were stuffed. Had tiny harline cracks in the pinion that you couldn't see in the photos.

Mate I have just had 3.73 diff gears installed 2 weeks ago with a harrop sports cover & could not be happier, I was going to go 3.46 diff gears but glad I didn't as the 3.73 gears with an auto transmission wasn't as low geared to drive on the street & hwy as I first thought. Also get a solid spacer fitted to replace the collapsable spacer , something to do with the pinion bearing I think.
