Sounds awesome mate, the E-Series Senators are a beautiful looking machine, the pick of the bunch too imo. Can't wait to see some pictures! You'll have to upload the pics to a website like Photobucket first, then use the [IMG] tags to get them up. Hope that helps.

Looks tough as but damn ur close to those concrete guards, too close for comfort.
i would say its perfect. my cars the same, i literally just make it over concrete gaurds. a few mm lower and i would have a cracked front bar. saves you from having to reverse park everywhere.
one tough looking machine, but from the photo's, the bonnet scoop just looks like a tacky addon...

Luke the guy how owns it now said he had too much wheel spin and as you can see it did start to real me in. We both had 4 people in each car.
A Win a Wins LOL. I'll take it when I can.
I know that when Geoff had the Senator it best time was 11.2 over the 1/4. Alot has been changed since then. I think it has around 470-480 at the treads.

It all depends how big the bump is!!! When I had our VE GTS with 22 X 10's i ran a 255/30/22 Kuhmo KU31 on the rear and rolled the guards and it didn't rub. But with this one I rolled the guards a little more and i had a set of 265/30/22 in a kuhmo Ku21 from the GTS and these rub depending on the bump you hit but general driving is OK it just when you drive it hard  . Once these tyres are worn out i will go back to the 255 tyre in the kuhmo cause I know it works.
Thanks for the comment and good luck if you go to 22's

Nah it isn't that car. I was actually shown a picture of tourers wheels about a month before the where released and I was actually going to buy them for the VE GTS we had (the White one) then a week later we sold the GTS and i found this Black Beauty and decided that we would put them on. Then 1 week after i bought the Senator and was waiting on delivery from Adelaide i was sent a picture of the Senator on the Advanti catalogue and it was black with those wheels. So that's how it all came about. All we wanted was something a little different and it didn't turn out that way as it never does when trying to find an after market wheel to go over the HSV brakes without spending $10K or so.

Thanks for the comment, we like it. The only thing i will hopefully end up changing is going from an auto to a manual so i can put a bigger stick in it and make a few more ponies, otherwise wise there is really not a huge difference between to two. The Senator is just more luxurious in it's finish and because you don't see to many done up it stands out a little more. I always wanted to put a Senator wing on the GTS but never got around to it. I am just a sucker for the Senator's as I have a good old trusty VS Senator as well.

Hi John,
Its' a 224/230 114 cam, it doesn't seem to hunt with the standard stallie in it. I am happy with what's it got considering it runs a 12.5 quarter mile time in full street trim. I would like to put a 3000-4000 D Circle stallie in and a bigger cam for more power but where do you stop and It's only an everyday driver too. My wife would prefer me to put a Manual in it.
How much power do you want that is the million dollar question and do you need to drive it every day. The problem i have found is you are always chasing that little bit more (POWER) and then you have to start looking at the drive line and so on. Hope this helps you.

Hi John,

Standard diff gears still in it??? I am thinking 3.7's

That's awesome for a luxury high class car.

EXACTLY well said.

I wish my wife does not want to learn to drive manual, it's good to know I keep telling her, my previous car was a Manual this one had to be a Auto.

Hi John,
Everything is trial and error from here on in?
Hoping just a small thing like diff gears and street slick will make a world of difference on the track but might be a pain in the ass to drive on the street with wanting to floor it and leave liquorice strips everywhere. :)

I am seriously thinking about some 3.7's, I just had my guards rolled as well but mine are 22 x 9.5 with 295/25/22's.
They did not rub driving on my own but with the rest of the family, full tank of fuel and hard accelaration it did damn.

I would have gone a 255/30/22 and you wouldn't have had any problems. I am just waiting to wear my 265's out and go back to a 255.
Is it rubbing where the bottom skirt is at the front part of the rear wheel.

Yeah spot on Andy, it also pulled the lip out just near that area which has cut into the left rear tyre :flipoff:, so that's why I got them rolled.

Hi ri evo,
I think it was about $2k i will check it out for you. Also i have 22 x 10's on the rear and the tyre is a bigger rolling diameter of a 265/30/22 not a 295/25/22 which is 11mm small in rolling diameter. If I had 22 x 8.5 I would have a 245 tyre and could slam it on the deck but I like the staggered look. I had the front tucking the guard but it rubbed on metal and if I could be bothered to fix that i could also go lower in the front but it is my wifes daily driver and the last thing I want is for her to bring the front bar home in the Boot.
If you get down on the Gold Coast go and see Chris at Pedders Southport and he will look after you
Cheers Andy

Hey Dave, Thanks for the info I have actually already done the same thing you've done when i got it 2 months ago. As I had already had the white VE GTS with 22 x 10 the only way i fixed it was to go a 255 tyre in a Kuhmo KU21. If I go 295/25/22 it also has a smaller rolling diameter than my 265/30/22.
I tried to stiff'n up my coil overs but the ride was too hard.
Thanks for the Info much appreciated.:goodjob:

love this car and hi-torque i believe i have seen yourself and i believe your brother with the gts and ford doing the typical hsv vs fpv discussions while tunning my mates rx7 and my supra....
so is the cam+auto better than the supercharged manual ???

Thanks for the comment Josh,
The car is actually quicker than the supercharged GTS over the 1/4 mile I would say only due to traction, but they both turn the wheels on street tyres on the strip as i don't have semi slicks. The GTS run a 12.59 @ 118 mph on 20's and the Senator ran a 12.5 @ 115 mph on 22's.
There only ended up being about 70 rwhp difference between the 2.

Hey NIS-014,
Its hard because we have had a VS Senator, VY R8, VZ R8, VE GTS and now the VE Senator signature.
It's hard to pick 1 particular one out from what you are wanting I suppose it really comes back to how much money you want to spend. I like the Senators Sigs because they are just appointed a little better than the R8 and GTS.
The VE's all have the same brakes, The GTS and Sen Sig have MRC and the Sen Sig has Knapper Leather.
At the end of the day it's your choice but I am sure you will make the right one.
On the other hand if you bought a VZ R8 for the right money you could spend more money on MODS.

Hey everyone its been a while. A couple of weeks ago someone F@#$K Witt thought I needed a few pin strips up the sides and bonnet and boot of the Senator while the wife had it parked at her work. The car has been at the panel beaters for a week now and we should get it back on chrissy eve. I am absolutely F@#$K'n Rope able that shit like this happens. Out of all the cars we have owned and parked in the same spot they had to do it to the black one.
So to all you can never be to safe.
You cant really see the art work cause its covered in dust but i have some better one on my phone to transfer over.

The car was parked at my wife work in a secured carpark with video surveillance ( but apparently not in that area, so she found out when she went to security to go thru the tapes. He then told here that due to a tree infront of the camera it doesnt show 1/4 of the carpark. !!!!!!! :vpo:).
We have had 5 HSV in the past 7 years and none have been touched before only this Black one.

Hi Arif,
I reckon it handles awesome, but it does scrub in the back if you hit a big bump or have 5 people in the car. The 265 tyres on the back are a little to big in the rolling diameter. When these are worn out i will put a set of 255 Kuhmo's on and it won't scrub.

Hi Johnny,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner it's been a bit hektic. I can't remember exactly what it was. I think it was around $800 and that was for remove and refit and they painted the whole front bar and side skirts and the rear bar as well except for where the exhaust is.
Hope this helps.

Hi all,
Well we drove the car to Melbourne and back a fornight ago and the car was fantastic but it got a few stone chips on it as the car bra wouldn't fit with the walky scoop. We had a tyre delaminate on the way home on the rear but didn't realize till we got home and I went to get them re-balanced and a wheel alignment done. So we where lucky it didn't let go at 110-120 it would have made a nice mess of the bodykit. So I put some new Kuhmo's on it and finally got it slammed without scrubbing and the rim is level with the rear guard with the tyre tucking :).
When I get some pics I will post them up.

I have bought a VE VCM OTR for the Senator to see if it's any difference between the Orssom OTR. We will soon see. I will post results once fitted and Hi-Torque give it a Tweek if needed.

Hi All,
Took a couple of pics on my phone the sarvo and thought i would post them up of the new VCM OTR.
I am hopefully going to take it to a T & T on Wednesday night and see if it has improved over the Orssom because the best it has run in full street trim is 12.5 @ 116mph on 22's.
OTR looks awesome and easy to fit about 25 mins to 30 mins from start to finish.

Hi All,
I run the car up on the Hi Torque Dyno tonight and we needed to do a bit of a re-tune as the AFR's where around 13.3 so we had to put a bit more fuel into it and get it back to around 12.5's of there abouts after fitting the VCM OTR. The Senator was 310.5 Rwkw with the Orssom and ended up after the retune with the VCM at 314.6 Rwkw. I will post up the video and the dyno sheets. It also picked up a little more torque and seemed to hold the power up top a little longer from what I could see on the dyno sheet but i am no tuner so i could be wrong.:goodjob:
Next is the track.

Hi All,
It's been a while since I have been on the Forum. The Car was used for a wheel shop for Auto Salon and they put a hideous set of wheels on they where meant to have a set of Blaque Diamond Ruffs in 22's front and 24's rear butt it didn't happen. I was very keen to get my wheels back on but not all was lost i actually got to screw my coilovers all the way down and get a couple of photo's then drove it home and Funk Me it was Rough to ride in, it felt like you where in a Go Kart.. LOL.

Bit off topic but for all those using or contemplating using E85 you can expect shortages of supply for another few months, I work for the company that produces ethanol in Sarina and the plant is in mothballs for about 5 months due to the wet weather in the region. The main by product of ethanol production is Dunder which is used by cane growers as fertilizer with all of the wet weather paddocks are too wet and boggy so growers cannot use it.
Hi Andy
Dual fuel mapping is the way to go, I had dual fuel chip from C.O.M.E racing back in the day when I had a vrss.
Surely there is a list of petrol stations that have e85
United and Caltex come to mind
So u coming down to Powercruise for sure???
Not sure if u know I sold my VEGTS last yr and now have a old school HQ GTS Coupe which I might take down to powercruise, if I can get a few things done before then, it a cruiser for the moment with a BBC.
Hope to see yeah there I might enter or be a spectator.
