Hi everyone, Today I got defected for my exhaust hanging too low on my ute. The rest of the car passed fine just the stock cats and flanges hung down by 10-15mm too much.

I am putting the car off the road in 4 weeks to do some modifying to it and will be off the rd for about 6 months. But i need to have the defect notice removed in 2 weeks. So what im asking is, is there another way I can lift the front by 15mm without changing springs. I currently have 235/45/17 inch tires all round, and i have a set of stocko rims here. So is there a 15 inch tire i could use to bring the front up by 15mm?????

Any ideas or help is greatly appreciate!
Cheers Guys...

Couldnt take it somewhere a bit shady and get them to pass it. Theres a few places that do it on the coast.

Unfortunately I have to take it to the officer in charge at my local cop shop... The joys of living in the country with strict coppers......

get some hard wood, jack the car up and put the wood between the springs on each side to lift it..

I recommend doing this around the corner from the cop shop and dont drive to far with the wood in. or as said above put some BIG rims on it.

225/70r15 load rating is high, but it may just get you there.
Actually on second thoughts the tyre won't fit under the spring seat, so effectively your screwed. You need to change your springs

Thanks for all your replies, unfortunately i dont know anyone with 20s to put on it. The hardwood trick might work as a last resort.

Can you still get those bolt on spring spacers, I saw them years ago where you can either compress 2 coils of the spring, or separate 2 coils of it. Pretty much like a miniature spring compressor. Or, I might see if i can get 2 10mm spring bushes and put one on top and below in each spring seat.

Grrrrrrr the hassles.
Thanks again.

Easiest way find a set of standard springs and struts and bolt them in. Go home and take them out after, if you want to go back to your current height. Should be able to find a set of standard struts and springs cheap.

i lifted up my car about 1.5cm by installing superpro spacers in my ute. They are cheap and work well. I bought front and rear spacers but only insalled the rears as that lifted up the car enough to stop scraping on things

Hmm they are for the rear,

Would one of those spring spacers above and below the spring work do you think?

Cheers

if you are goint to the trouble of putting a rubber spacer under top and bottom of the spring then i would just take them out altogether and put stockies in. or a said get some complete struts. at least if it happens again you wont have to chase around. if you have a rattle gun you can do front springs in a hour easy.
