Hey all, chasing some advice and maybe some peoples past experience with a problem i am currently having.
I have recently built a stronger bottom end and fitted a ttr turbo kit. When i took it in to get tuned we noticed a strange problem.
At 10 PSI it makes power fine doesnt drop off and flattens off past 6K. As soon as boost is past this point after 5k it misses and drops all its power.
The engine is decomped a little and should be able to run at least 13-14 psi. At first we thought spark blow out, after 2 sets of plugs both 6s and 9s and small gaps it did exactly the same thing again.
Engine is definetly not knocking and we have tryed a new set of leads and another coil pack set.
Tune was also leaned out a little to try to eliminate blow out and it still did it. Dwell was adjusted to help still did it.
Cant really be a sensor problem due to it running spot on at 10psi and under.
I would be surprised if any exhaust restriction is causing it due to decreasing spark gap and not making any difference hense not appearing to blow spark.
Only other thing i was thinking is maybe harmonic problems with the patriot doubles i am running? Going to try a spare set of 918's
Anyone help us out here cause i am pulling my hair out!!
