I did a quick search and couldn't really find what I was after.
I'm interested to see what fuel people run in their cars, why they run it, kms to a tank, etc, etc.
Car:
Transmission:
Mods:
Power:
Fuel Type:
Consumption:
Why?:
Car: VYII SS
Transmission: 6 Speed
Mods: 228/230 cam, dual valve springs, underdrive ballancer, full exhaust (Pacies, dual 2.5" catback, hiflow cats), OTR, maffless tune
Power: 281rwkw
Fuel Type: Shell V Power
Consumption: Before Cam; 18-20L/100kms (100kms a week, all very short trips). Havn't filled up after cam yet.
Why?: No reason, have just always used V Power.

-VX series 2 clubsport
-Manual
-Valve springs, pushrods,228/228 112 cam, U/D pulley, OTRCAI, full 2 1/2inch exhaust with mafless tune
-281RWKW as well :goodjob: lol
-shell V-power or BP ultimate
-consumption with cam is about 9-10L per hundred ks and about 18-20 around town
-reason is car was tuned on 98 octane fuel and dare not buy cheap fuel

Car: VZ L76 SS
Transmission: M6
Mods: 224/224 cam, VCM alloy OTR, di fillipo zorst, mafless (the only relevant ones anyhow).
Power: 300rwkw
Fuel Type: Vortex 98
Consumption: Highway-frequently see mid to low 8's with purely highway driving. Town- Around 14-22L/100 depending on mood.
Why?: A good mate works at Safeway, so I get a 4 cent discount using his card. The car also made 269rwkw's initially with a maf tune (pre cam) on vortex 98. I got a retune a few months later mafless (just to see the difference it would make) and it made 230rwkw's on the base run. The only difference between the two runs was the retune used BP ultimate. Either the fuel was off, or the tune had moved, and the tune was from a guy who knows his stuff. Since then I've always used Vortex when I can, and have had no problems as yet.

wow! thats a big drop off from using different fuels. fuel must have been off, but then again thats hard to happen since the stations would go threw fuel a fair bit and wouldnt be able to go off, i would think at least. I'm a little concerned cos I mainly just use BP Ultimate.

For me its the following:
Car: VE GTS (LS3)
Transmission: M6
Mods: 232/236 cam, 3" quad cat back, high flow cats, DiF headers, UDP, Harrop HTV2300 supercharger with intercooler, OTRCAI, body bracing, Walkinshaw lowered
Power: 550fwkw/740fwhp
Fuel Type: 98 octane all the time - usually mobil
Consumption: all over the place at the moment - 240k out of the tank at present since SC put in; suspect its a right foot problem
Why?: Warranty no longer supported on <98 octane, and mafless tune done with 98. Even stock it drove better with 98. Keen to try the new 100 octane making its way around

Car: VY 11 SS

Yeah, I was pretty surprised by it too. The reason I use Vortex98 now is because both times my car has been on the dyno with Vortex98 in the tank it has made the power its supposed to. That and the 4c discount..

I am going to start running mine on the United Premium 100 this week.
Will be interesting to see how it goes. I rang the Pooraka Servo today
and they said it is only 5cpl dearer than the 98. Only downer is
Pooraka is the only Servo in Adelaide that sells it. Might even throw
it back on the dyno in a few weeks and see what that says.

CAR : VZ Calais 190 Alloytec
MODS : 2.5 Inch catback and K&N air filter.
POWER : 195 odd kws at the fly.
FUEL : Either Mobil premium 96 octane or Caltex premium 95 octane.
FUEL ECO : 6-8L/100Km Freeway and 9-11.5L/100km Local.
WHY: Because it runs better on 96 then on 92, isn't as expensive as 98 and i cant tell the difference between 98 and 96 anyway.

after reading about you power drop using bp ultimate, i thought i would give Caltex Vortex 98 a go, and straight of the bat it feels smoother to drive and feels like i have more power. couldnt believe it, just a different brand of fuel can do so much.
now i just have to see if there is this united 100 octain fuel around my area.
nope, had a look on the United site, and they dont have any ethonol or 100 octain fuel stations in Brisbane. bugger, wanted to give it a go.
