Went to look at the new Maloo today they didnt have any on show but had an E1 Maloo . Price was to good so traded the 10 month old SSV Ute on the Maloo (black). Own my own business so get the tax break so by trading in the SSV I actually made money on it with the trade in price I got and GST rebate and the 50% off .
The sales guy was a great bloke and he offered me a test drive of the new E2 Clubby took it for nearly an hr drive was in the heart of Adelaide and went out to the Freeway for some spirited driving in the hills felt a lot different to the SSV.
On the way back at one of the traffic lights he told me to try out launch control. Hit the traction control button press clutch in select first and hold foot flat on accelerator(it wont go over 4800rpm. It didnt sound to good basically like ya revving the tits off of it. Anyway lights go green and just dump the clutch and takes off like ya wouldnt beleive.
Something you wouldnt be using to often unless at the race track/drag strip .
And they had a Senator Grange and Clubby on display and the pictures on the computer dont do them justice , but saying that certain colours make the front look very busy.
Cheers
Rob

What is your feedback on the differences between the SS and E2 as you said it felt different?
I seen the E2's the other day aswell, IMO they still look pretty ricey..the wheels dont look as bad as i thought though!

LOL. With the title, I thought u might give a little more feedback on the launch control.
Yeah, the E2 in the other thread with the E1 bonnet is growing on me... well, the front isn't totally repugnant anymore. Still not a fan of the rear bar

Agreed with certain colours making the front look busy on the E2's. Reckon your safe with the darker colours, tends to blend in nice then

So launch control is operated by the traction button, would that make it software driven? Mite be able to have it switched on or added during software updates?
sounds like a good thing maybe added to the VF

im guessing you could hey, like its been said, it could be all software controlled so just throwing it out there, that with a tune it could be lowered or raised? happy to be told im wrong though.

saw a white e2 GTS at my local dealer last week, looks good in flesh.
how come they dont put the Launch control in the Auto?
You would think launch control would give holden a reason to whinge about any possible warranty claims.....driver abuse, etc

Yeah mate not quite right there and you can't simple enable it on the old models. Its partly software driven but mostly to do with the new Bosch ABS controllers.

Youd need to get the LS7 clutch with it aswell, otherwise it'll last maybe... 2.34 seconds and then shit itself.

Launch Control is hardly promoting responsible driving on public roads is it? Last time I looked, drag racing was a 6 month automatic license suspension and a hefty fine.
Still, would be great to see it in action behind the wheel :)
Ask the person that buys that clubby ex demo if the sales guy is a great bloke. I think telling potential customers to run launch control with sub 500km on the clock is utterly irresponsible. The Clubby owner then gets denied warranty on a brand new clutch because its abused when it fails prematurely.
Take your car for servicing at that dealer, I dare ya!

They'll have it listed for sale as the Sales Managers wife's car.
Will warranty cover a new clutch if it fails and they discover launch control has been used? You would assume if they add a feature you should be able to take advantage of it. There is probably some very small print about the damage launch control can do and if used don't some crying to us.

The E2 GTS that I have sitting in my driveway has the cruise control that brakes for you as far as I know and is the Bosch hardware and that is what differentiates the E1 from the E2..plus the bi modal exhaust makes alot of AWESOME NOISE for all you guys who say its ugly...my god its AWESOME
GO AND BUY ONE YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE I HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!PS THANK YOU ANDREW...........
