bought some ngk pztr5a-15 plugs this arvo, and i know they are meant to be a 1.5mm gap, but i checked em when i got home and they were 1.4 to 1.45.
Now, it does say not to regap them, which i wont, but is that .05/.1 of a mm gona make a difference, im sure it will, and im guessing 90% of cars run around with wrongly gapped plugs. I guess what im asking is, technically what difference is it going to make and i should take the wrongly gapped plugs back right?
thanks

This is why I always check the gap when installing new plugs. It only takes a few seconds & you know everything is 100%
The slighter smaller gap doesn't cause any major issues - as the tips erode the gap will lengthen. But if you overgap to start with it could be a problem (poor or erratc sparking/ incomplete combustion etc).

so the 1.4/1.45mm will be fine to start with?

They will be ok with that gap - but, if it was me, I would be gapping them to specs.

so how do i gap them without damage? It says not to as u may damage the electrode

Very carefully & with the least possible leverage/pressure on the centre electrode.

I think its the shit that seals out moisture.
Not to be put on the conductive tip as can cause a miss apparently

every tip was covered in it.
One thing tho, plug change is done, except i have a really stupid problem, i had two plugs in my hand and dropped them, they went down the drivers side, and i think they are between the block or sump and the k-frame.
Now i have a vibration coming through the car, its not a knock or a miss, its basically the same vibration that you get form your exhaust. noticed it as soon as a sat in the car, engine is smooth and i've taken it for a drive without any issues other than the vibration.
I know i gota get them out, (not tonight) but do you think it could be the plugs that a jammed between the motor and k-frame transfering the vibration the engine mounts would normally cancel out.

I wouldn't touch the gap. Yes 1.5mm is recommended but I've heard of that many guys running 1.0mm its not funny. They don't seem to have any problems running a tighter gap either FWIW so I wouldn't stress.

was'nt really stressed, just wanted a better understanding of what was the go in that situation.
altho i am pissed that i have that vibration now, you guys reakon its possible its the plugs that a trapped down below to cause it?
