hey guys every time i cold start my car then take off as soon as i turn i get a kind of crunching thud. only lasts a second then no other noises/problems at all. it doesnt really bother me that much but it does it on every cold start without fail.
at first i thought it may be my steering rack as it was leaking but i replaced it a few months ago and noise is still there.
any ideas?

Check your sway bar rubbers. If they are crushed (which is common) it will give a bump at the first turn and then settle. Then once they wear thru...you will get it consistently in normal driving and it will upset the steering geometry if left un checked.

ok still doing this guys, but now does it a few seconds after i drive off(after a cold start) without turning. i got an alignment the other day and apparently my castor rod bushes are cracked, any chance the two could be related? if i get a chance next week il put it up on the hoist at work and have a squiz at the rest of the bushes
