Well been waitin since bought the new ute in march and finally had a chance to scrape together some spare coin to make the girl sound as she should. Shopped around for a week calling everyone at least twice and found a cheap xforce zorst 15/8 extractors high flow cats and 3" catback on ebay so jumped on it! Waited nearly 2 weeks for the delivery, had a quick glance make sure i got what I paid for and booked it into shop for fitting. Problem! I didnt look hard enough to notice the rear mufflers were missing from the package, called supplier [ he apologised profusely and sent one set straight away, wait another 2 weeks] all sorted. But now my ute is all fitted up and first start = silence!?!! Used the original rear cans until new ones arrive and sounds like......wait for it.....nothin! Quite as. You would think extractors, cats, and all but in 3" would make some diff? No. Cheap fix if you want the sound not the hp gain, just change the rear cans.!!!! Lesson learnt: Sometimes you get what you pay for!:flipoff:

I learnt a lesson as well when simply chasing sound. Next time i'm not going to bother with paying $500 for stainless steel rear mufflers, but rather keep the stock mid section and simply replace the rear mufflers with straight pipes with stock tips welded back on. Should only cost about a $100 or so to do.
Wonky

Removing rear mufflers usually results in bad drone at times. From what I've heard you're possibly better off removing centre muffler(s?)???

What a bummer.... you did check to make sure the ehasut shop did change it? lol
If your not happy throw them back on ebay before they carbon up, this way you will only take a small hit.
What was the Ebayers shop name?

Yep got straight onto ebay seller and he has sent out the rear mufflers that was "forgotten". All other parts were there and tip top, but sucks now having to wait another 2 weeks then booking in to get rear mufflers changed really upsets me a little. And yep checked the zorst was fitted and took my old one home in back of ute less rear mufflers as still on the ute. Wont name and shame seller as of yet will give em the chance to rectify before burnin him publically as he is a rather large shop not just a individual seller.
P.S. Does anybody know where I can get some electrically operated solinoid dump pipes? I am sure a member on here has it fitted to their car have done searches but cant find it? The ones that bypass the zorst system after the cats.

on a VE...
just straight pipes in the centre.
and a pair of straight though mufflers on the rear??
im currently running (on a L76 6.0L VZ, auto)
1 3/4 pacies, high flow 3inch cats, 2.5inch supercat catback. with no rear mufflers.
its a touch droney, but it more or less THROBS than drones due to the extractors.
...def gettin a rear muffler put on, it is prettty freakin loud.
forgot to say it sounds awesom.

Shouldn't you be running some sort of crossover in the mid section on a v8? Either a H-pipe or X-pipe?

isnt it cats > x/h/kiss pipe > centre muffler > pair of rear mufflers.
...VZ same, cept pair centre mufflers > one rear muffler.
i persoanallly was going to go for a DF.
but saved my coin in the catback department, and put my coin into some extractors.

So true... we've tested a few of the cheaper systems, and yes you only get what you pay for...
If you want power and a decent sound Di Flip all the way

True - but there's a bit of science involved - you have to pick the right place for it and the right length. Think it was HM who put them in their VE systems a while ago.

So not happy with the fact you didn't check your purchase...... Lots of people on here that are happy with their X force. Di fillppos.....well, some buy a ferrari cause they come in red, mmmm. I have a car in town with a di filip and honestly it has the lowest quality of construction I have seen.
Change the rear mufflers yourself, undo the bolts that hold the hangers to the body and the two bolts and the exhaust, easy and done in 10 mins.
Remember that exhaust shops and suppliers like a mark up. If you got it cheap on ebay good on you. Don't take everyones word as gospel (If you want a bolt on VE at 11 sec??????)
Smoke and mirrors..................
Me personally, would love to do Ve exhausts and make a quick $500 FOR 30 mins work for a cat back. I have said too much already I am sure.
