I have always been a bit of a fan of extra gauges in the car. I want to put some in the SSV and initially was looking to try and make a custom housing
this looks like it's not going to happen and I do know about the twin pod one but what I was wondering was if anybody with a VE had placed any in the spot under the stereo. Could you please post some pics
Cheers

Bonners,
I've never seen any under the stereo, but how about the JHP 'HSV Style' triple gauges - will these suit what you are trying to do?

I understand they come in any/all of the SSV interior colours and the font matches the same as the main cluster.

As I said, I'd never seen it done before...until now. That looks really, really good - the quality of it all is fantastic to my mind. Not sure about vision if one had a manual but again, really well done.
The JHP one's are $1200 supplied and I got an auto-electrician to fit mine for $200. The install was and said not to be too difficult with a fairly good guide provided. The only big issue being the loom is arranged for a LHD car and so you need to 'flip it' around however the instructions don't warn you of this. Apparently there would be a shed-load of back-tracking if you didn't recognise this issue early in the installation.

To do the under the stereo one would cost you the cost of two gauges (maybe a couple of hundred, something to sit them in and the time for wiring). Sorry I like the HSV ones lots but overpriced.
We are actually looking at a different option at present. We are looking at using the REV app on the iphone and plugging it in to the rear aux in of the stereo. We also need to make a cradle for it and sit the iphone under the stereo. Was done very successfully by a US counterpart in his G8.

if you wanted to be full stealth.. it might be possible to mount them further back and have the flap thingy fold over them.
if anyone has seen the dash/drivers glovebox in a toyota yaris (we have one as a del car) ... ive seen some JDM style Yaris, with guages in the drivers upper glove box, lift up the glove box to reveal the flash led tripsta guages.
however it was a widebody'd thingy with a turbo'd motor and rear wheel drive conversion.
my mate also has some mounts on the side of his steering wheel colum. they look pretty schmick.
how bout some custom mounts hanging off something semi under the steeringwheel.
my old school pontiac had that setup.
