Here is a quick video of Jim's mental CSV.
This beast made 399kw at the wheels on a run in tune with a low rpm limit.
It is powered by a naturaly aspirated CV Performance spec built 427ci LS1 engine with a custom dry sump.
Cheers, CV Performance.

Sorry mate can't give the game away, so many dollars have gone into the r&d in this set up and we are not prepared to give it away for free. This figure was acheived using pump fuel and no nitrous.

I have heard this car and it sounds out of control !
It's the angriest sounding car i have heard for a long time.
The engine wants to jump out of the car.
The power output was achieved at well below red line this motor is capable off and it was built to handle very serious nitrous direct injection.
It's a custom alloy block 427 dry sump engine with a 6 speed manual.
Stay tune for more . . . .

Update time on the CSV!!
Last saturday we straped the car down on the rollers to do more tuning.
The result was a strong 448kw (601hp) at the treads.
Here are some photos for now.

I spoke to Jim on the weekend after he picked the car up, a very happy man.
The instant engine response on WOT is like hitting nitrous and the power graph certainly shows the same thing.
That is a big power number boys for a NA engine , especial a street driven one.
But it is no surprise to me, as i have been there to see for myself the development of this engine over the last 12 to 24 months.
Once again the bar has been risen, but this time very high and i am sure that over time this knowledge and unique experience and crazy combination engine will be put into effect in other customers cars and further developed, possibly to a higher level.
Jim that is one complete super car, truly unique . . .
Congratulations !

Mate I hear what you are saying and I though the same i.e. was a little worried that it would be completely unstreetable I am pleased to say its not.
Is it cranky, noisey and with a triple plate clutch is not what you would want to drive in peak hour traffic, however I did take it to Wollongong on the weekend and can still put in 6th gear and pull 1600 rpm in the process. Also being 428 cubes does calm it down a little although not too much.
Con spent alot of time both Dyno and on the road at low rpm to iron out as much as possible and it has certainly paid off.:goodjob:

There is a tremendous amount of R&D that has gone into this car and it shows in the power output, drivability and reliability.
This car has seen different development stages for a few years now, it did not come together over night . . . but it could easily now.
It is the most radical sounding machine you will ever come across on the road these days , and it does get driven very often :bravo:

The previous n/a combo made 498rwkw with a 300 shot so we should be a little north of that.
Its back on the dyno this week in NA form for Con to work some magic as we have a little way to go and Con can correct me here but I dont think we have hit 7,000rpm yet.
Again its been worth the wait and along with good HP its got torque to boot.

They will probably get a big head but nothing new for Con & Vic to make power from a natural engine.
Back in the 1980's they had a Holden HQ one toner that was producing 1000hp from a N/A Chev engine that was running low 8 second passes.
Even in todays high tech world that ET from 20 years ago still stands strong and that engine is still alive and well in Peter's orange LH Torana and still runs low 8's at over 160mph at WSID !

Hey Dave,
This car came from CSV with a factory fitted MoTec computer and not the standard LS1 PCM, and as such is a different setup to your VY.
You would normally run a air temp sensor in the OTR or choose to cheat the computer and ran it to direct air behind the grill as suggested by Wastegate.
Hope this helps . . .

Street Machine have apologised to C&V and a retraction will be forthcoming. Kostecki had no part in the design or build other than supplying the aluminium block and dry sump only, with both items being modified oncve they hit the C&V workshop. Hi
A fantastic effort - well done.
You mentioned R&D so I was wondering if you are going to build similar setups for the general public? In other words, can I order one like it and if sio, do you have an idea about pricing?

Everything in the engine bay has been built and or customised by C&V, so alot of the R&D has already been undertaken. Can you build another one like it, sure and with the advancements and availability in areas such as engine blocks etc makes it a whole lot easier. Just give Con at C&V a call and if you are ever down this way I'll take you for a spin........

Well its been a little since my last post, however you get that after letting go a double row timing chain, luckily at idle....only slight carnage:flipoff:
A couple of little, call them minor improvements while the old girl has been in storage (thankyou C&V) in the pursuit of some solid NA figures. Look forward to posting some results soon..... Jim
