Pics probably too old.
It means that wherever Sonny hosted the pictures they are now gone. If anyone for some reason has the pictures, PM me and ill host them and fix up the links in Sonnys thread.

its piss easy mate.
Take 10 mins to study it and go do it.
1 wire needs extending, the rest is just a case of pulling a bit of tape off and re taping
so i got a little bored this arvo so i started to pull it apart. only have to extend coolant sensor wires and put loom threw grommits. not to sure how the plugs come out of pcm so i didnt try to remove them. so only thing im not sure of is that and how it all mounts in kick panel, i remember that the way sonny did it was very neat and would like to do it the same way.
anyone still have the pics like Ryzz requested??

hey Ryzz slightly OT but is it worth putting room aside on the LS1 servers for the forum to host pictures for when threads get moved to the DIY section or mades as stickys so that this doesnt happen in the future. Simular to what sidey used to do a while back but I can understand it all got a little too large with all members pics on there but surly a few pics from the how to section couldnt take up that much room?

From memory its a 6mm or 7mm socket and you undo the bolt in the middle of the plug.
The plug will come out as you undo it and be careful to help it come out evenly.
The PCM its self needs some or the fins ground down to fit snug behind the passenger kick panel.
Just take your time with either a linisher or flap disk on an angle grinder and dont let it get too hot.
Or put up with a little bulge.
Oh and you also need to cut down and relocate the little box behind the footwell.
Luckily i only had one box and it cut down to this tiny little box

that makes it look so simple, gonna have to do this now to my car :D
so i got the job done today, moved the loom from above the traction control unit to under it (not as noticable). in doing that i had to extend the horn wire and the traction control plug aswell as doing the coolant sensor.
just need to seal up the grommit tomorrow and the job is done. took a few hours on and off, aswell as some shit talking with mate as it was. all joins were soldered and heat shrinked then in condute and retaped as if it was factory.
thanks mungrel for the photos as it was all that was needed to get me over the line, but now i have done it i relise it pretty easy to do

Great stuff mate.
It's pretty straight forward once you get into it. :)
so the majority of my pics buggered up so i only have a couple and they arnt very helpful to anyone else looking to do the job but here they are anyways. also before someone points it out i no the bay is filthy but you get that with dust storms.
this is it all pulled out before the coolant sensor, horn and traction control wires were extended

this is the wires extended but the plugs not replaced yet and the loom pulled into place, this way we get the exact length needed.

Wow, just signed up on here and came across this old thread. I guess I'm going to give this a try over the weekend.
Over here in the states we're buried in with snow right now, so there is plenty of time to play around in the garage
