Guys, just a quick question why doesnt HSV look at producing a decent cold air intake.
As it is an easy way to get a performance gain (proven time and time again) but yet they still insist on the old design even though the corvette has one and the various concept type cars have them.
Given it is one of the first modifications to most of the high performance cars, especially on this web site, it is such a shame that the hsv's dont have one to start with.

Indeed it did but at $150,000 it is hardly mainstream, even for HSV. Although not answered I suspect the answer lies in the shorter service intervals of OTR air filters like the W427. Although acceptable for a limited market of the W427, a lot of normal HSV owners would expect the filter to easily make it between services untouched. Alternative, I can't see where you would fit a good cold air scoop for an airbox as the bodywork gets in the way. Therefore, it would probably need a manufacturing change to the bodywork to make room for such a set up.
