G'day all,

I'm looking at painting the wheels (wire wheels) on the father-in-laws' MG B, and am wondering if anyone has any tips or techniques? I've done a bit of auto painting but never major bodywork or wheels.

They are the original wire wheels but are quite rusty (just surface rust far as i know)and look like they are different colours, so my plan is to mask the tyres off, sand back the wheels, paint with primer and VHT wheel paint http://www.speco.com.au/vht_wheel.html in either the ford or chevy silver. Has anyone used this wheel paint before?

My main concern is getting adequate coverage in the finicky areas (where the spokes join the centre) without it running, and also painting the inner rim at the same time while coating the whole thing evenly. The VHT wheel paint is meant to be harder-wearing than normal arcylic, so more resistant to fading and brake dust damage.
