I am looking at putting a catback exhaust on my Grange, but as it is going to be used part time for a limo service as well don't want it loud.
If there is anyone that has just put a catback on their LS3, preferably 2.5" would it possible to let me know what you put on, your thoughts and if you are in Perth could I come and listen to it ? Prefer auto as the Grange is auto and has to have "NO" drone !!!
Have been thinking X Force 2.5" with maybe Varex Mufflers to shut it up when doing limo work, but not sure if the 2.5" would need them.
P.S. Drove a Grange here with a Walkinshaw catback on it and that was not too loud but don't want to pay those $$$ for one either.
Thanks for your help.

Yeah gonna talk to Don but prefer to hear one on a car. I have to be picky with this one unfortunately.

I've got the 2.5" Manta Catback on a L98, not sure how much different that is to the LS3. I'm guessing the Grange has more sound proofing than the SS, so it wouldnt be very intrusive at all.
If I was getting a ride in a grange limo I probably would prefer it standard. Just my $0.10.

Yeah i see what you mean, but Don should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you like the Walkinshaw then go the perry catback. Its the exact same item just without the walkinshaw tips. I put the 3inch stainless perry on my LS3 Maloo this week and am very happy with the sound. A bit loud for your purposes I would imagine. And the best part it was under $1300 installed.

I have an x-force 2.5 inch catback on my clubby . Not too loud under normal driving conditions , nice under spirited driving . Mines a manual and has virtually nil drone .

I assume as it is 3" that it's mild steel for that price ??
No mate. its full stainless, however they paint the pipe work. Have a look on ebay you'll find the 2.5 for under $1000. I'm sure quite a few on here have purchased through there. I even spoke to HM who make both the Perry and the Walkinshaw just to verify that it was legit. If there is none listed just send the seller a msg. You can't go wrong.

Not sure might be abit loud for a limo .

JK just change the rear mufflers with some quality mufflers.
The HM ones are cheaper or you can go with Manta which are pricey but sound nice and deep.
I need my car for work also and am looking at the Manta.

Just wondering if will be too loud for the limo work Mike. For me it is not an issue. Be good to go in one and listen.
I've had a quote of $1040 from HM's themselves, it is the LWB version so may be slightly dearer.

Well jump on a plane to Melb then:p
Maybe PM Spank as I believe he uster have a HM (old version) on his old WM Caprice Limo or Ls1CopCruiser as he has a Xforce on his WM Grange limo
JK,
The twin 3" Manta as a cat back on my L98 is quite sedate inside the vehicle, bit noisy outside but far from anti-social.
I would think that the 2.5 would be a bit better...I have never had anyone complain about the noise inside and that includes the inlaws who are not really car people.!!

Hi John,
I also have the 2 1/2" HM Perry Stainless steel catback mated up with HSV Headers and Cats on my SSV Sportswagon and would highly recommend it mate! There is zero drone and when pottering around like miss daisy its sounds like stock in the cabin and a little bit deeper from the outside.
I also bought mine from boltonperformance for $930 delivered.
Cheers,
Matt
