This is a new "anti SPAM" measure that limits the ability of people joining the forum to just SPAM members. Believe me, it's for the greater good. You just need to get your post count up in a sensible manner to get full access. It's not that hard really. You can still ask questions etc, but any one found posting crap to just build up there post count will have their posts deleted and the count reset to "0".

Read the forum rules. It's not uncommon for such deeds to result in suspensions.

It's a good idea, I agree that it will be for the greater good just need to get my posts up a bit lol
also can it be changed that a guest can view the images because I was on this site for a while before I joined just because it has good imagery and I don't see how that would affect anyone because it is kinda promoting the forum.

This is weird members can post pics now under 10 posts.
But they cant see them themselves?
http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=1621589&postcount=4
Previously members needed at least 10 posts to put pics up.

I do understand Simon, it will be for the greater good, but as the op said most things are already answered by using the search button. So there will be more 'crap' posted to get post counts up, just to be able to see photos and links etc.

Been a member since about 2004 and after all this time I cant see pics. I liked just looking, which meant I didnt get into any slanging matches with other members. The reasons for it are valid though.

fair enough reason but what of instead of having to have 20 post's what if for the first 20 post's you have to type in a code the ones that are random words or numbers in a distinctive font wouldnt that work just as well????????

Every post - all links, photos and smileys. bloody annoying now when trying to read a post you have a heap of these lines To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have ** posts. 1 message for each pic or smiley etc
