The heading had me worried for a second......They indeed make some nice bodykits...and do some great work.
I have a friend in Newcastle that drives a VX CSV with the Strata Kit.....a very nice looking car...goes very very well also.

I spoke to Peter 2 weeks ago and he said we was still staying around Sunshine area once he moves and he'll have the same shop number?
Don't care if they're going to mildura but I need something done about the small crack in my Pacemakers which were fitted.

Any news if CSV has opened a satellite worshop in Melbourne. Last time I spoke to Peter, he said alongside his Mildura operation, he would also be running a smaller workshop in Melb. (most likely somewhere in Sunshine) to maintain customers cars and perform tuning work. Any updates on this?

i heard he has a mate in south melbourne with a workshop and peter will come down one weekend per month to tune cars at that workshop. not 100% though

That probably will be the case. But there is no mention on the CSV website of what is going on. Hopefully someone can shed some further light on this situation.

G'day fella's
I know I'm bumping an older thread, but does anyone have any news on CSV? They did offer some pretty trick gear, including a boot lip for the VY/VZ I'm keen to get my paws on.

Is the new place the same size as the one that used to be in Sunshine? I also here he has a twin turbo new model ready to be released with full ADR's. Speaking to Pete he said it will compete with the HSV GTS in price terms but will have a street legal 450kw on tap with 8 pot brakes and a new body kit. Exciting times ahead for CSV!!!

Um, trying to remember how big the old shop was. I think the new shop is bigger due to the panel shop he has at the back. Bloody good setup, wasn't quite finished when I was up there last. Everywhere you looked there was a nice car getting something done to it. GTO with twin turbo's Pete's new VE project car, that was going to have some ridiculous amount of rwkw's. From memory there was a Mustang with the biggest blower hanging out of the bonnet. Peter said it chirped the tyres as it was idling, omfg I wanted to hear it running.

380mm vented rotors with 8 pot piston calipers all round that fit under 19 inch rims.
Think these will be my next purchase after the wife gets over the blower he is currently fitting for me, he he

The performance figures will put HSV to shame and all with full warranty and compliance.....:woot:

ill believe when i see it.. having your name stenciled on a caliper isnt exactly earth shattering in this day and age and taking on HSV or WP and the rest isnt a thing you can do on a shoe string budget..
I mean the VE is coming up to 5 years old and saying you have "supercar" coming out soon isnt earth shattering..

haha, Im suprised they are still going myself.
especially when a workshop asks him why the filter dimensions and the internal mesurements of the OTR he provided varied by 8mm and he told the workshop to tell the customer they are a w........r.
the otrs were all dif dimensions for the filter section and he didnt want to do anything.

Want to challenge HSV? I'd say release a car that's as powerful as the E3 but strip out a bunch of the gear and make it lighter. HSV make performance products but (IMO) seem to be very nice cars that (barring the GXP) are quite luxurious and kick like a goat. The senator and grange are obviously a lot more luxurious. Take out a bunch of weight, make it more (or at least feel) more racing orientated and it'll kick like a mule. It's just my opinion and I'm happy for people to have a go at me but HSV seem to make a lot of cars and have lost some of the "special" in HSV.

I dont want to start a shi% fight with anyone, but you obviously haven't been to his new shop if you are surprised he is still operating, I have been there for the last 3 days getting my blower done, & the workshop is full of cars from Melb that have followed him back to Mildura.
I am talking about big dollar cars, like a VE calais with a big block making 650kw, VE SSV with a stroker & twin turbo's making ridiculous power & so on & so on.
Workshop is full of cars & phone doesn't stop ringing all day.
But as for the otr's well I have no idea, so I aint going to comment on that.

No doubt about Dichiera, love him or hate him, he has pushed the envelope with these cars from day 1. He is a top tuner and and innovator to say the least. His cars especially the LS7 GTS was something to behold. Did anyone ever see the LS7 Monaro CV8 he built?? - it was insane!!!

Time will tell with the new CSV cars.
His older stuff not only took it to HSV, but smashed them about the head with their own apendages.
His cars have graced the front cover of Motor and Wheels on many occassions.
It has been a long time since he has built a true CSV car.
I think many will be surprised.

How hard was it to put a LS7 in a ve gts when a customer is paying you to do so.. the trick peter had was the relationship he had with the major car mags..
But like alot of ppl theres alot of cars made/built that never seen in the wider public. Ppl build them to have something that special and dont need the forum or car mags to make them feel good.

Pushing the envelope would mean he was doing stuff no one else was. Now besides selling complete cars as packages with his own custom body kits, there is nothing else he really did that different to any other performance workshop. As for him being a Top Tuner, hmmm no comment. Innovation, is one word to describe his body kits, but there are plenty of others too.
The reality is nothing he ever did was that revolutionary that i'm aware of. Where he excelled was in his marketing. His original CSV models were sold like OEM vehicles. The exposure he got in magazines was pure brilliance on his behalf. Cudos to him for his hay days.

Never a truer word spoken (or typed).
Given CSV make a song and dance about their tunes being emissions compliant, I'm curious to know if their customers also get an emissions certificate with their tune. I was of the understanding that a tune would void emissions compliance. Unless CSV guarantee emission compliance on their non-tuned cars?

CSV has NEVER made such claims regarding his aftermarket tunes!!
In respect to the previous line of cars he was selling as a secondary manufacturer, then that is a different kettle of fish. They had to be EPA compliant and emmision tested inorder to sell his cars under such govnt. regulations.
His cars especially the LS7 GTS was something to behold.
May I ask what was to behold about it? It is definitely a cool car but it's just a GTS with an LS7, as I could see. Is there something I was missing. I'm not aligned with any shops or have an agenda or anything, just curious.

CSV always mention this.
Read up Motor, these claims appear in numerous articles. CSV's owner regularly mentions CSV cars are emissions compliant as distinct from other workshops.
In regards to the number of CSV cars sold, I reckon HDT have sold more VEs.

But do you blame him? If they are emission compliant, i reckon thats the cars strongest selling point. Being able to buy a tuned/built car that is 100% street legal has major advantages (Insurance/police).
While most of us are happy to mod and deal with any issues, there is a market of people who dont want that risk.
I dont blame him even slightly, if you exclude this point then the cars arnt that special/good value.

The point I'm making is that if the tune is touched, then how does it meet ADR? I'd like to see the proof by way of a certificate.
If the tune is not touched, then I can't see the value in their cars. But if the CSVs perform better than HSVs, you'd have to assume the tune is altered but performance is not that outstanding for a tuned car.......... if you get my drift.
Basically, if I'm spending my money on the tune, I would want a good tune. If not, I'd stay with the HSV. Besides I know that my HSV won't depreciate as much as a CSV.
