got an on line quote from ups for $1500 ??

Try having a chat to Interparel. Ive used them within Aus and they are a booking agent for AAE, DHL, etc. They also do Import Services and the website says to call for a quote.

I use Fed-Ex and UPS but for anything big up to vehicle size I use a guy in Sun Valley CA. He ships a container over every fortnight so the shipping is cheap.
