So Ryzz, any ideas on a date?
Maybe a weekday early new year so that the roads may be slightly less busy?
Just throwing ideas out there!
I hope it is on a day that i can make it!

Could always wonder out to Castle Hill, or further west if need be. Anyone can come, just an excuse for the Northern beaches people to stop being lazy and meet each other!

Dave: Can you remember if they have BBQ's at Palmy or is it BYOBBQ

Not that I know anyone on here, but if a date is provided, I spend a lot of time with a fellow VE SSV Ute owner in the Northern Beaches - I would come down for a sticky beak and quick hello!

Happy to make it early in the NY, probably better as Xmas will pretty busy and then the lead up to NY's is just as busy. Maybe second weekend of NY?? Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th Jan??

Roonstain
05-12-2009, 04:51 PM
Pretty sure that is summernats weekend - i still don't know whether I will bother to go or not
But I think that sounds like a better time to do it as the Xmas/NY traffic would have subsided at least a little by then

I would be coming up from wollongong - as mentioned earlier, somewhere like castle hill or anywhere would be good - i'll leave it up to you!

I might even still be in town around that time, wouldn't mind doing it but will have to wait and see. Couple of things to take into account, that time of year at Palmy is damn busy, might want to look at getting someone up there to stake a claim on a bbq by 11am. Also not a hell of a lot of parking there anymore, I have seen that joint so crowded it was worse than a westfield on Xmas eve. There are other parts of Palmy that are a lot nicer and less popular as long as that enormous bunch of morons otherwise known as catamaran enthusiasts aren't stuffing the whole place up.

Raptor6L

So what is your suggestion? If parking is going to be an issue then we probably should try and find a place where we aren't going to be scattered all over the place.

How about Mona Vale beach? If its not packed there is heaps of parking and there are BBQs at Apex park. Or there is Newport beach i think they have BBQs, or Whale beach.. maybe not for the low low cars though.

Is it just merely meeting a mod or several members and proving you have a car?

Well may as well get a start on that, i suppose. :)

I'm thinking a meeting point at the Macca's just after the airport tunnel on General Holmes Drive, Mascot for people coming in from the south, like me. The M5 East finishes and blends in with GHD just before the tunnel, so peoples from the south-west can meet there also, and it is a fairly straight forward run from there.

Yes/ no/ other suggestions....

Cheers

Sweet. Coming from Caringbah myself. I mentioned a meeting place near the airport tunnel in an earlier post, but it involves cashless tolls for E.D and Harbour Tunnel to go north from there. Some people aren't geared for that, so i'm happy to meet people coming up from the south wherever.

Lets arrange a meeting place of Thornleigh Macca at 11AM to pick up all the outta towners. Maybe we can get all the people from the south and grab them at Chatswood?

To the people coming from the SOUTH, If you want to meet at the Spit Bridge Car Park (near the little beach) at say 12pm (See google maps link below)

Strick and myself (and anyone else coming from around the Shire?) are meeting at the carpark out front of the Sutherland Leisure Centre. More than welcome to meet and cruise up to Thornleigh with us if you want? Meeting about 9:30, i guess.
