Guys,

I just got a new computer as my current one has seen better days. Going from XP to Windows 7 I am finding frustrating.

I have one programme I have set up but need to copy a file in to get it working which Windows wont let me do. I have done many google searches but havent found any working solutions.

Is there an easy way to let it copy in this one file. Version is Windows 7 Home Premium. I am currently logged in as an administrator but this hasnt helped. Still comes up with a message saying "Files on CD (not a CD but anyway) are read-only..."

Cheers, Vaughan

I have managed to get a bit further. I now have the following issue:

Now it says I need to provide administrator permission to copy the file - which I can do but then it now says I need "permission from everyone to make changes to this file"

Click try again and its just the same - File Access Denied:bawl:

Boot into safe mode & move your files, if that does not work I do have an archive sent out from MS that gives you the privileges you need.

Use an FTP Client and do it in there. Filezilla for the win.

I've had the same issue, it might be helpful to not install the program to X:\Program Files\, but rather somewhere else as that's what worked for me.

right click and change your permissions.
