gday guys,
we recently just moved to south brissy from the sunny coast and it would seem we cant get ADSL2+ here ? WTF? were only 15 mins from the city... in Parkinson 4115, anyone else live near here have ADSL2+ who are you with ? or conversly, what are my options if i def cant get it here ? currenly using one of those mobile net dongle things with dodo, whilst this is working ok during the moving interim, price wise and limit of downloads means its not really a long term choice.
cheers

We were told by Telstra we couldn't get DSL2 so we rang IINET and had it within a week.

you moved to the southside.... theres your problem
get on the net and check out the service providers, they all have maps showing where the exchanges are. You may need to change providers if this is the case.
QLD - Perfect one day, Out of coverage next..

:lmao:
We had the same problem out here on the northside, can't get Optus, Instant or TPG but we could get Tel-shit-stra, so we had to settle for it. To add to what Ash said, if you get on the net you can even input your telephone number into some of the ISP's websites and it will tell you if you can get DSL/DSL2+ etc.

yeh i'm on the southside and can only get cable in my area. I think that's what you'll find. There are some cable only areas which sucks pretty badly.

Hey mate, I'm in the same suburb, been a 4115 boy for 30 years (26yrs Algester, 4 years Parkinson) so if you need any info feel free to hit me up. I wanna know how you're getting to the CBD in 15 mins LOL....
Problem with Parkinson is 2 things, cheap ass developer (mostly stocklands) and was developed in a miny recession, so we're on PGS (Pair gain / Rim), so cheap and nasty - and doesn't help our exhange is pretty much at capacity (its diagonally opposite the Calamvale Hotel). I'm on TPG ADSL, haven't had much drama, only when it rains I get bad connections, never really asked the neighbours what they run. My parents are with GoTalk ADSL2+ in Algester.
