For anyone who is remotely interested in surfing the Eddie Aikau classic is on live right now. It's a bit of a special contest in that it has to be huge to run the event, the waiting period starts in the beginning of winter and runs through till the end. Needs wave heights above 25ft to run and many years it just doesn't happen.

Even if you don't surf it's a bit of a spectacle.

Pulling into the closeout on the end is for ppl with a deathwish, I surfed out there years ago when it was smaller and even then the shorebreak was not somewhere you wanted to be.

Cool.. Surfing is something I never got into but still followed. Love the beach and surfing is cool. Try to get down to Bells for a look whenever I can in summer.
