Gday all,

ive just had to stop riding motorbikes due to a work place accident, destroyed my shoulder, the doctors recon its going to take 2 years to get back on a bike but oly about 6 months before i can drive a car again. since ive used my bikes for commutting to work with, ill need to get a car.

i do enjoy driving and am quight good at it, so i was thinking of getting something to do the local motokana events for fun. never done that before appart from some amature rally driving. they tell me i need some positive things in my life to look forward too and occupy my time with.

So the quest for a car, i want something fun, it has to be automatic due to the shoulder, and since i have a caravan, id like something to tow with.

currently have an 05 magna wagon with triptronic and mags, that the wife drives our children around with and tow our light caravan. but i feel a v8 would do it better.

currently looking at a few different commodores, but ive always wanted a vt ss. since i want something special id like a genuine ss..

test drove by proxy a white vt ss commodore yesterday white 1999 model with 160,000km on it, 5.7l its owned by the holden mechancis wife and they have had it for 6 months but she just found the car she wanted, so is selling this, they have just put a new starter motor, power steering pump and rack, new belts, timing belts etc on it, its stock appart from a set of after market mags for some reason. it does have a few marks on the plastic interior, and the front spoiler has hit too many speed bumps and taken a few good wacks...
their after 7-8k for it and its local, although im not a fan of white..

also looking at a 1994 hsv VR senator 5.7l
i was looking at a 89 hsv vn ss, but the guy was a bit dodgy.

Whats ya budget mate?

160k for a Vt is not bad at all. Seen some VE's with as much!
Depending on the budget you might also want to have a look at Vx or VYs.

Newer engine, safety features, few more airbags, better interior..etc

I would always go for VT rather than any previous models..:xmas:

hahha well this is a ls1 forum after all, not the 304i or 308 forum,;-)

i do like the vts though, budget, well thats a tricky one, im in the process of selling my bike, so hopefully that will fund it around 10k or so...
