just wondering if anyone has tried to push the LS3 with the stock heads and bottom end , just wandering whats considered the "safe max limit" , i am wanting to put a 125hp NOS in my car but the heads are standard , car currently has a cam (in the 230's duration) , and is putting out around the 330rwkw mark thru a 4500 stall..any suggestions/opinions/experiences would be great!

ps: search botton didnt find anything that i needed.

Bottom end should cope but the pistons wont like NOS if they are standard issue. I would suggest Forged pistons, H-Beam rods and ARP rod bolts at least.

Standard pistons and NOS = death to engine.

That's a false statement-well i hope so

if who ever is doing the job knows how to take the right amount of timing out and give it the right amount of fuel and knows how to read plugs and runs proper plugs the thing will go for a long time

i do recommended a wider head gasket and headstuds as they tend to blow water out of cyc 7 more then cyc 8- ("keep the heat away from the top ring and ring around the head gasket-)

I went threw 25+bottles @175 and the engine is still going-compression is good and leak down is 5-7 % threw out the engine.

Used- .021 and .017 jet's (foggers)

That was also using gm head bolts on the 5.7-

I would hope that the results will be better due to a better efficient port and chamber as the ls3 as.

Hope that helps-
