View Full Version : EOI: Harrop Sports Diff Cover,VT - VZ (IRS)
APCLB
11-01-2010, 01:35 PM
Expression of interest for forum punters to place an order for the Harrop ( http://www.harrop.com.au/ ) Sports Diff cover to suit the VT to VZ-irs range. If we can recieve 10 or more orders, forum sponsor Wholesale Suspension ( http://www.wholesalesuspension.com.au ) can supply these for $450 each (inc. gst). Other models can be accomodated for at extra cost due to fitting aligning etc. WSP can also fit these kits for Sydney siders for $700.oo
So thats $450 per unit, pretty good savings there (usually $525) & can be shipped most anywhere in Australia for $25 (will vary with location).
• Significantly reduces axle tramp in nearly all applications
• Increases oil capacity by approximately 1.5 litres, resulting in improved cooling and durability
• Utilises standard wheel speed/ABS sensors
• An affordable safe guard for circuit, rally or drag racing applications
• The Harrop Sport diff cover is cast and manufactured in house from high grade, heat treated
aluminium, and CNC machined to exacting tolerances with total precision
• Designed to suit Holden IRS Commodore, Monaro, GTO vehicles including LWB
• Can be machined to suit the use of external oil cooler and pump systems
• Improves rear end rigidity for towing and heavy duty load applications
• Heavy duty powdercoated mounting bracket
• Urethane high performance bushes

Ahh spewing! I just purchased both these products a little over a month ago.
For those having doubts about them, the combination of the diff cover and trutrac center is fantastic. I highly reccomend anyone to get these, and transform your machine. You won't regret it!

For street use only is there much advantage to using this Harrop "Sports" diff cover over Harrop's cheaper "Enduro" std mount style diff cover which holds the same amount of oil as this one.

From what it looks like the sports one bolts directly to the body, whereas the enduro uses the existing mount. The sports one will greatly reduce axle tramp.
Can we order (and is it worth it) the bush kit that goes with it?

Guys, this is only for the Sports cover, the offer is not valid for the Enduro cover. The advantage is the rear mount to chassis, the Sport cover comes with a heavy duty mount (also looks a million bucks) whereas the Enduro cver utilises the standard mount.
The outer urethane bushes pressed into the diff mount are included in this package as stated on the first page
The outer cross member bushes can be purchased separately.

Ok guys, we will leave this till Wednesday next week to finalise order and ensure everyone knows what they want (fitting or sent or pickup).
The bank details will then be displayed in this thread of the Wholesale Suspension business account, and details on how to deposit the funds.
The Tru-Trac will be separated into a different thread, we will sort this out a few weeks after this is done and dusted.

Won't be a problem however this needs to be paid for in full (by everyone) before the kits can be ordered and sent.
The only way this discount is offered is in the 1 order, of course some being sent and some fitted/picked up at Wholesale Suspension.

Luke, Any chance we can combined shipping on the tru track and cover? As in leave the cover at your shop till the trutrack order arrives, then send both out at once?
Its cool if not, but im guessing a few people wont bother installing the cover till the trutrack arrives and this could save a few $$ on shipping.
Thanks heaps for organising the group buy. :goodjob:

Regarding the tru-trac postage and the sport cover, the covers are shipped from Melbourne not here in Sydney, I only keep one or two sport covers here so combined shipping would be dependant on you wanting to wait for the tru-trac deal, as well as paying upfront for the sport cover.
And for numbers, how many are interested in the tru-trac, 10+?

Feistl,
No idea on price, will get that updated next week.
They will be shipped directly to each customer if freight is required, or sent to Penrith for pickup or fitting.
I will have to check with Harrop for pickup in Melb but I don't see it being a problem.

Hi Luke,
Once again thanks for organising this. Just with regards to pickup, would it be possible to pickup the cover and trutrac at the same time? Im happy to make payment now....
I was going to pickup the cover (about an hour drive from my place) but ideally would like to wait and pickup both at the same time.
If not, thats cool.
Cheers, Errol.

Hi Errol,
Won't be a problem, but you won't be able to pickup the Tru-Trac until the group buy is finalised and paid for on the mounts. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks then yes you can pick them up together, the quicker everyone pays the quicker these will be released.

Luke

Luke, is the Truetrac group buy for the Eaton or Harrop Truetrac? I've just spoken to Harrop and there's a BIG difference in price between the 2 and have different power ratings.

The very short verison is the Harrop is good for 500rwkw and the Eaton is good for 500 (or 550) rwhp.
Harrop use the same internals but Harrop has developed their own housing and stuff.

Please also note, if you have a twin 3" Difillipo system there have been problems with fitment as the Difillipo system wraps one pipe behind the diff.
This seems like a good buy. I've got a 3" Di fillipo exhaust on my VZ Monaro. Is my car (separated tail pipes) one that will have fitment issues or are we talking about the older VY series? May have missed the boat on this but it would be good to know for future mods. Cheers.

it is only the df system that exits on the one side becuase one pipe length wraps around the diff housing. Pic on here somewhere where some one fuked the pipework to make the harrop cover fit. As far as i know you should be fine.

Groboz, if you have the twin 3" DF system where one pipe wraps around the rear of the diff the cover will not fit, you will need to get the exhaust modified which we cannot carry out here unfortunately as we are not an exhaust shop.
Chargedvx6, no problems mate we just had to keep it above 10 for the price discount.

For a VZ Monaro A4 diff (3.46) what will be the oil capacity with the new diff cover installed? Harrop say 2.5 litres but normal capacity is just under 2 litres from what I've been told. If the cover adds 1.5 litres as advertised then it's over 3 litres. Need to know so that I can order the right amount of expensive Mainlube 154. Thanks.

Anyone from Melbourne picking up their order?
Im going to harrop headquarters once the trutrac deal is sorted to pickup the bits, if your in the south east im happy to collect your part as well, and you can pickup after hours in rowville, or during business hours in South Melbourne (Albert/St Kilda Road).
Some people might have issues getting over there during business hours, or not want to pay the shipping costs.

Any chance of another group buy at this price? I know 2 people who would be in.

Might be possible, but the two potential games stoppers are...
1. Whole Suspension are no longer sponsors
2. Harrop didnt really seem happy last time with the group buy. When i went to collect mine it turned into a bit of a shit storm at harrop....
That said nothings impossible and if you get the numbers you might get a discount.
Cheers

This was all done & dusted last year guys......
Anything is possible, but it wont be at those prices again. As mentioned, there was a stuff up with pricing, but Harrop stuck to their word & came good.:goodjob:
If someone wants to start another EOI thread regarding these sports covers,I'll be in for another one myself :)
Wonder if they'd do a bulk buy deal on blower kits..............

That bad is it? I might put a EOI up and just see how many people are after one.
