simmons fr19 any copies?

hi all,
im am wanting to get rid of my black Advanti Gauntlet ( sick of the black wheel rage ) anyways i wanted to get simmons fr19 but as the have closed you cant get them.
guys now want an arm and a leg for them in used condition.

so wanted to know if anyone at all knows or has seen wheels that are simmilar in look or if there is a copy

the only wheel that looks similar is something like them billet intro show wheels.

but i think they can come to be pretty expensive.

Simmons were getting their wheels made in the US so there must be some company that has the wheels over there. Now simmons dont exist then there would be no reason they can not make very similar or the same wheels to the same quality. Also some company will surly start making knock offs now Simmons are gone. I am amazed it has not happened yet.

Simmons are selling for more second hand than new on ebay too.

Into wheels are really really expensive. Can be over $1000 per wheel or more

Just a quick look these models are close from a distance. Pretty clear the 3 piece bit is missing on some.

found them today called few places they fit but cant get them in a dish in the rear other than that they are as close as ill get i guess

actually Simmons rims and centres were being cast in china then shipped back to Australia for assembly, i work for the logistics company that was shipping them.

the only person that has the moulds for Simmons is Tony Simmons, after they failed to find a buyer they simply shut down the factory. if Tempe tires are producing Simmons then they are certainly fakes and an FR20 was never made.

there is only 1 type of 20 inch rim ever made by simmons and it was designed for large 4wd's in mind, due to the load rating required it was a very heavy rim.

There's a photo of a custom set of FR20"s on the above mentioned forum. Uses the FR19 centre and a modified outer, with 12" wide rears, so they have certainly been made before. This is the same method used to make the FR18"s as they use the FR17 centre.

Tempe will be producing 'replicas' but with a forged centre. I believe they have the original Simmons moulds but cannot produce them as Simmons wheels. They have already got FR19"s on the shelf (only silver or gold centres at this stage) as said but are working on FR20"s and other coloured centres.
