I had this forward to me in an email. It's pretty bloody disturbing if you ask me! I've always thought that inter-species breeding was impossible but I guess it's only improbable.

It doesn't actually say it was caused by a man making love to a sheep...

im guessing it wasnt either and was just a genetic mutation.
I believe i read somewhere that all the mammalls on the earth have less than 1% difference in their genetic makeup and we have like .1% difference with Apes.
When you think about it, it kinda makes sense since we all evolved on the same planet under mostly the same conditions so on a micro-biological stance i don't see it as impossible.

Have you ever wondered why cow-cockeys still carry around a little 3ft stool with them, even though they no longer milk by hand??????

When you consider the fact that 98% of DNA is supposedly "junk" that has no purpose then the 2% of "useful" DNA becomes the quantifiable amount. If we share 99.9% of our DNA with apes then in fact we share 95% of useful working non-junk DNA. And this is amount (95%) of similarity that we supposedly have with apes. They however come to that figure scientifically, it's just luck that I got that figure using your recollections
In the end, however, we still know fark all about DNA so any quoted figures are at best a guess.

i think if cross breeding was of any concern there would be atleast 1 living Centuar in europe.
Especially with all those german ladies shagging horses.

Well just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it wont happen :p It's most likely a genetic defect, but with the amount of bestiality going on in the world (sorry Middle East, but it's prolific there) it may be improbable but I doubt it's impossible. Some interspecies breading is only considered impossible because the offspring don't survive... Doesn't mean there's not conception and growth until the genetics of the creature realise it can't work out how to build this thing properly resulting in stillbirth.
