Gearing up for the shootout one of our main test and tunes prior will be this Sunday coming the 31st of Jan. So today i spent a bit of time setting up the Ute for staged boost on the eboost2 called SSA (sequential switching function). After rigging it all up we gave it a quick check on the dyno. Testing on 7 psi made for 425rwkw. Switching from 7 psi to 17.5 it ran 652rwkw and over 1800NM of torque.

I cant wait to try and break something! :1peek:

Im pretty sure this is as much as the alloy block can handle. We are setting a temp sensor up in the exhuast manifold to work out the combustion pressures, so we will know more later in the week. And depending on that it may get some NOS after the LSX Shootout :)

The turbo is rated to 1400hp and is using 1180 odd hp of that at the moment

4th gear Tone! The speedo has not been calibrated for the 3.07 diff ratio if thats why your wondering. 650 rwkw would make alota tyre smoke in 3rd :eyes:

I reckon if we hooked up the boost cooler, put some dyno tyres on and ramped from 0 psi to 7 then 7psi to 17.5, it might make 900hp at the treads.

But Soon! The VX SS with the whipple and lsx 417ci and and and! A 75 shot of gas is going to be run up. Dont know how they are going to do it without the tyres frying!

It seems Street Commodores seem to think your ute is a VU V6. That's what they have got on page 87 of the latest mag.

"Nathans turbo V6-powered VU Commodore ute dropped into the single digits for the first time with a 9.97sec@147mph"

Yep. Ive been called v6.com, from Matt @ APS Frankston i cant remember how anty times now! I spoke with the guys at Street commodores about it and they said 'Oh yes we know'. Well why the fark did you print it! Im getting a sticker to put on the windscreen saying ' V6 TO ENVY ' :)

Set up the launch control this week, should make the 1/4 a little more consistent.

It Spools up nicely holding 5 psi which will make for some fun side stepping the clutch :)

We went with the Lingenfelter LNC-002. Great product and easy install. Plug and play with only a little wiring required.

:goodjob: much obliged. I did start looking into making the factory ecu do it, but never followed it through. This looks much easier.

If your ride is N/A then the factory valet mode is fine. But boosted, the best is an aftermarket unit that cuts spark. The ling also retards timing as well.

Yep that was as far as I got too :) I did have a brief chat to my number cruncher and we where going to harrass VCM about it as I think they had a solution. However enough of my ramblings. Love this ute, its an inspiration.

The launch control works a treat , now to just be able to put it down.....

So ute gets a power glide and a 3 grand stall! This should make it a little more consistant.....

And along with this a new larger turbine housing is being machined. This should make a little more killerwasps and push the peak power from 5700rpm to 6800rpm. With a 3.07 diff ratio at 6800rpm on 26 inch rubber the calculator says 170 mph is possible! Not that it will be anywhere near it. Should be some fun though!

Yep - definitely a lot of fun.......looked like it was struggling to get any grip to the track, or was it ?

After one of Nathan's burnouts there was a strange noise and then there was no drive to the back wheels , "WIGMAN" came out waving the white flag .

Bigger exhaust housing + 3.07 diff ratio + 17.5 PSi + lingenfelter 2 step launch + sticky 28x9" tyres =

Yep , snapped the pinion shaft clean off the end of the diff.

Fortunately , Jack and Chris were on hand for a quick diff swap , here you can see Jack doing the hard yards...
