Hey guys
I have a VE SS UTE with 27,000kms on the clock with a growler cold air induction and i was wondering how much you can get out of a tank when yor just cruzing back streets?
i dont give mine shit by any means (rev to about 2500rpm before i change).
i get about 500-550, this normal?

I'm only getting 250-300 a tank at the moment ... 'dems the downsides of a blown 427 stroker :)
But I was only getting about 350-400 when it was fairly normal (6.2lt LS3) - I do a bit of city driving so that didnt help matters.
On open roads I now get about 6.7ltr/100 which isnt too bad for a stroked LS3 I think.

I got 470 with the SS drive it a bit arse hollish sometimes think it has the very low fuel indicator on mine but was not showing just showing low fuel but needle was down nearly till end which i think is great.

With a 260+rwkw A6 I need to average around 40kmh to get 15l/100km and for every 10kmh increase I drop about 1l/100km. In my SSV A6 sedan with very similar mods and power but different OTR and MAF tune instead of mafless in the ute I had to average 50kmh to get 15l/100km, so the ute is definitely better on fuel and probably now has more power too (last dyno run was at only 1,800km, now done over 13,000km).
Fuel consumption without quoting average speed is bloody meaningless!! :)

on last trip to rocky i averaged 10l per 100 with average speed as indicated by ute as 100kph for trip

well, id say that is about right if you take 73 (tank size in litres) divide it by 14-ish (litres per 100km... approx factory claim) = 5.215-ish multiply by 100 = 521.5-ish....
all highway ks you'll likely get more distance, opposite for city ks....
now having said all that, i only just pased maths in high school... deacades ago...

No such luck for me, Ve clubby and I get the low fuel warning at about 380-400kms. I reckon it's probably got about 80kms left in it after that.
My fuel average fuel consumption after filling up last week was 25ishL/100km, average speed around 33kph. As of yesterday though, after some good traffic, fuel consumption is down to 13L/100kms (not sure what the average speed is upto now, didn't take notice).

Sitting in traffic is the killer for me. No matter how good i go on the throttle i only ever see it at the low 10's to 12's for a day MAX.
After my morning warmup (while having brekky) and then sitting in ntraffic most of the time mon-fri my fuel consumption goes to around 17-19L/100km.
Get anywhere from 350 to 420 Km before low fuel rings

I just filled up yesterday and got 70 litres in it, after doing 480kms on the last tank, and 460 or 470 the previous tank. Thats just suburban driving.

Just put in 63L and the trip 'puter shows 580km completed at an average of about 80km/h. I drive up and down the F3 to go to work, so that explains the great economy. 11 or so litres per 100km. Car has only done 2,000km so may get a bit better with it "freeing" up after a few more clicks.

Im averaging 10.9l / 100km at 59.1kph average speed . Thats the computer's read out over 1000s of km as I dont reset the computer. However I drive at least 80km per day at +100kph on the motorway. End result is +600km per tank but this will turn to crap if the motorway travel is not included.
MAF tune, Hurricane extractors, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, high flow cats and pod type CAI. 242 rwkw on Mainline dyno.

I'm getting about 400-450 city with a little bit of freeway thrown in. Only mod is a 2.5" Manta Catback. (note - thats until the fuel light comes on the first time usually)

That's about 12.2l/100 km - bloody good for 58kmh average speed!! I can occasionally get into high 12s with that sort of average speed, but never low 12s!! :goodjob:

Just got home from two weeks holiday in which we headed up the coast to the Gold Coast, then up to Hervey Bay, then finally across to Fraser. Did about 2,300klms but made up with alot of of sightseeing obviously highway. Car was chockers with the ac on non stop. The car averaged 67km/h at 10lt.8 per 100
